Hey want some discussion about thisss..... I own a 2015 jk Unlimited Sahara. I'm a youngin and bought my Jeep brand new, I can't help but look back at it everytime I walk away :huglove:. Anyways going to start doing some things to the wheels. I was thinking about 20' rims and a tire 33-35. My jeep is all stocked. I was thinking of putting in a 2" body lift. What do you guys think about the fit? I won't be doing any off-roading yet just because I feel I paid good money and don't want to hurt my baby. So I won't be needing any type of suspen lift. I'm really just kinda set on those size rims and tire so wondering if body loft will be the best idea. And any body lift recommendations would be cool
Body lifts on JK's are not great, plain and simple. If cost is your main factor here, there are tons of decent suspension lifts for under $500. Rancho comes to mind.
My recommendation: Teraflex Budget Boost. Yes you will have to take apart the suspension, but this will not muck with you CoG nearly as bad.
Also, another item - since you wont be doing any offroad (i.e. getting into articulation) you can put 285s (that should get your 33+) on it without any lift. I have 315s on my 15JKUR and just rubbed the Rubi Rails when I went over certain bumps at certain speeds.
READ before planning, plan before research, research before build. Kinda like measure twice cut once approach.
Don't do a body lift. The Teraflex 1.5" leveling kit is like $150 and comes with everything you need. Probably cheaper than a body lift and will ride like stock still. Or, if you are patient like I am, you can always just wait for a deal on used parts. It takes a lot of looking on craigslist, forums, etc., but can save you a ton of money. I got my 2" Skyjacker budget boost pucks with their M95 shocks for $125 off of a local facebook group (Usually $450 new). Then found a set of lightly used 285/70R17 Nitto Terra Grapplers off Craigslist for $450.
