2 door 08 and 2 door 09 hardtop issues?

I have a 2 door 08 jk and i want to trade the factory hardtop for a factory soft top. I put an ad on CL and got an offer for a guy with a 2 door '09 but there is a question as to their compatibility. Will the 08 hard top fit on the 09 correctly and will the 09 soft top fit on the 08 correctly. I've been told there is an issue with a latch but does not cause any problems. Is this true and if so, could someone post a picture for clarification? Any help would be grateful.
Thx.

I sold my hardtop to a guy with a 2011 jeep. Mine is a 2010 and there was not a single problem with it fitting.
Im not quite sure what you mean by the "latch", however there shouldn't be a problem. The body of the Jk hasn't changed since 2007. I have a 2010 jk and I am currently running a 2008 soft top. The way the hardtop fits shouldn't be any different.

Well i went ahead and tried it and the switch worked just fine. I found out the "latch" issue was the new hardtops moved the center freedom top latch from attatching the two pannels together, to attatching the two pannels to the frame ath the center of the windshield. My 08 hard top fit just fine on his 2010 and the 2010 soft top fit on my 08 perfectly. Thx for the help.
