2 door lift on a 4 door

I am looking to get a TF lift for my JKU. I have a lift picked out (#1451300) but I do not want a full 3" but I think it is the most complete kit out there. I wrote to TF asking if they could just swap the springs and Doug said to order the 2 dr kit (#1451302) as it has the 2.5" springs. Has anyone done this? Is it even possible? I'm not questioning what Doug at TF said but it just seems weird. Put a 2 dr lift on a 4 dr.

Why does it seem weird? Everything is exactly the same on the two vehicles as far as suspension parts. The 2 door will be rated for less weight than the 4 door. That being said, I don't think I would do it. Just look around and get the proper size that you want?

I want to use the TF pre-runner kit, but only want 2.5" of lift instead of 3" due to using 33" tires. TF told me the same thing, use the 2 door pre-runner kit.

Weird was the wrong word. To me it just didn't seem right. My only other option is to buy all the same parts separately. I think it might cost more over all in the end. This is the kit I'm set on.

Go with the 3", in time you'll be glad that you did. If you add heavier bumpers or a winch, or decide on 35's later, you'll be kicking yourself.

I guess it will settle over time with the addition of a bumper and a winch. I am only planning on 33"s. I just don't think I need anything bigger. I would like to see pictures of a 3" and 33s. I think the wheel wells would look empty. I guess not very many people are running this set up as I posted a picture request but didn't get anything.
