The thing that's missing from the 2-door is the lame.

Searching posts is revealing:

"4-door" + "wife" = 2232 posts
"2-door" + "wife" = 3 posts

Of course, driving our 2-door makes me feel like a man. I just wish my wife would let me drive it more often, since it's her dd.

I am getting a 4 door this summer because I want a jeep but have 2 kids and 2 nephews and go camping and off-roading a lot. I have a mid-size truck and the back seat is way too cramped. I need the 3500lbs towing in order to ditch my truck. So the JKU is perfect for me

I have 2012 JKUR as dd, most trips to Mojave Desert I take 4x4 Chevy with Fourwheel camper for comfort. What I like about the JKU is my dog and I can sleep in it, it rides better on highway, and can be used at family car, seating 5.

If I did not have truck and camper, I would like to have a JKR as second car, but if I can only have one, it is the JKUR.

I love my 2D. People don't like riding with me anyway. Random dirt roads tend to get explored more often.

Married here, with dog, but children are out on their own.
Best explanation for why those married own a JKU -- you can sleep in it, haha.

I still think its funny some of you guys calling them station wagons, I don't see it, but I was also the old wagoneer fan too, they are all Jeeps to me and I'll even carry some of your gear if it doesn't fit in your jeep...
I was so upset when I finally got the title back from the Secretary of State. Jeep Wranglers are listed as Station Wagons here in Michigan! Seemed like a travesty to me to call such a beastly machine a station wagon....

To the OP: While this may not be an option for you in the immediate future, we traded in the TJ for a JK and the Super Duty for the JKU. People think we are nuts for having only Wranglers in the Family. Makes sense to us!

This was not what we planned when we got the 2 door last year , but it made sense when we really assessed our needs when we traded in the truck. I personally, prefer the hard top on our Arctic and the soft on the 70th.

Mine is a 2-dr, still classed as a station wagon.

When i was younger i would only get vehicles with no back seat.. just because i didnt want anyone riding in the back..

now i really dont care about that.. and i need space so i can camp. and i also pull a boat during the summer.. so it was much more practical for me to get 4 doors

Sometimes my 2 dr spends time in the garage, like when I don't feel like putting the soft top up and rain is coming. My garage is short-lengthed because I added wide work benches to the front. A 4 dr would not fit.

You have to stop looking for the 2 doors at the mall.

OFF ROAD...

the 4 door will go more be able to go more places with more lift then a two door.

a two door will be able to take many more lines available but may not be able to make it up one where as the four door will be able to. the 4 doors still need more lift though.

watch this video and ask yourself how many two doors you see on this trail.

Ain't no doubtaboutit--regearing is the jeeps savior, just like Fuel injection was to the carb.-

Hard to accept, but man when you do--BAM--

Rawhide,
Don't hide under the chair whistlin' Dixie. I personally don't think it's a jealousy issue. Both the 2 dr and the 4 dr fill a need, want and desire, depending on where one is in life. At one time, a 4 dr was best for my family, but now the 2 dr is the vehicle of choice.

It might be neat if you were to throw up a Wrangler Forum Poll and ask about the jealously thing.
