a two door will be able to take many more lines available but may not be able to make it up one where as the four door will be able to. the 4 doors still need more lift though.

watch this video and ask yourself how many two doors you see on this trail.

great video, BTW

I used to have a 4 door and now have a 2 door. I don't have kids and the 2 door has plenty of room for my needs. Just personal preference, but I do prefer the 2 door look too.

Then there is more to the story, because in reasonably equivalent configurations the 12 is waaaaayyyy faster.

Dear You Ate Too Much,

I believe in my own personal honest humble opinion that my '11 two door, six speed with the top off and stock drive train and chassis with me on board is a reasonably equivalent configuration to a '12 four door, automatic with a 2 1/2 lift and 35s and Mom, the kids and Fido and friends on board.

Given those two reasonably equivalent configurations, I challenge your statement that the '12 is "waaaaayyyy" faster. After all, each has to be in it's native environment dressed out for it's intended use.

Roger, I am thinking now you were being sarcastic

From the even "You can understand this dictionary"

In the absolute correct usage of the word "costed", pluke 2 is right

Costed means estimating the cost of something or pricing something out. (verb)
When you get bids on a supply or service, this is an example of a time when you costed out the supply or service.

OK, enough fun. I am getting on topic before Barrie decides to chastise me...

Oh I looked it up before I posted, and I agree there is a legit usage of the word "costed." I'm not sure I agree that "two door sport costed 21k" is "absolute correct usage" though. Perhaps "I costed out the 2 door sport at 21k?"

It may be a bit of taking liberty with the Queen's English, sort of like going black tie vs three piece suit or wearing white after Labor Day.

Ummmmm, I can feel Barrie looking over my shoulder and I am really going back on topic.

i got the 2 door and i waited for the '12 because i wanted something as snappy as possible. i can really see the argument for the 4 door though, tough to camp out of a 2 door!

in my opinion it seems like the 4dr has everything the 2dr has but a little bit more. I would defiantly rather camp out of a 4dr then a 2dr

I plan on taking a road trip from DC to San Francisco in my JKU... A big reason I wanted the extra space was so I could camp out of it.

Don't forget that the 4 dr does NOT have the better fuel economy, hill climbability, blistering acceleration, turning radius, overall magazine cover in-your-face rugged great looks and unmistakeable presence of the 2 dr.

But, as I mentioned in an earlier post, each has it's rightful place in Jeepdom. What's right for me may not be right for you and just because it's what's right for me now doesn't mean it will be right for me down the road, oops, I meant trail.

Yep. Totally agree. I am still not 100% certain I made the right choice. But, it is awfully nice when you are on a gnarly trail and you need to turn around, the two door gives you a lot of flexibility that way. Almost like an ATV.

I am now thinking (dangerous, I know) that maybe a 4 dr would be the better beach camper and a 2 dr a better twisty mountain road camper.

I'd rather camp out of an offroad camp trailer and keep my bug out bag and weapons in the Jeep, in case I need to drop pintle and make a tactical retreat. Oh, remember to to destroy the trailer so the Zombies can't use it

A trailer is a good place to keep the girlfriend/wife too if she gets annoying. Mine is a sweetheart, so I'm considering treating her by upgrading to an enclosed trailer

I'm not sure what the argument is. It's a preference just like a color or option. Both are good vehicles and awesome in there own right.......
