According to motortrend 0-60 in 6.7 and 1/4 mile in 15.2, those numbers are incredible for a wrangler and I doubt a RIPP supercharged 3.8 would pull that off. Too bad they don't offer the 4.10 as an option on the sport, would knock it down lower.

the pentastar doesn't actually accelerate, it slows the rotation of the earth to make you think you're going whatever speed you're going. duh.

Not that it matters, but why do you doubt that?

I have no evidence one way or the other, but common sense seems to suggest a RIPPed 3.8 is going to be a good bit more powerful than a stock 3.6. The RIPP system adds around 100 hp at the wheels to the 3.8, which means it's adding even more at the crank. So I'd conservatively guess a RIPPed 3.8 has somewhere around 315 hp. Maybe more.

Coupled with proper gearing (especially the autos), is there a reason to think that wouldn't be able to keep pace with a 285 hp Pentastar powered Wrangler?

2007-2010 Intercooler Jeep Wrangler JK RIPP Supercharger System V-3 Si-Trim & Boost Cooler, Satin

240hp and 260ft/lbs at the tires. Someone strap their 3.6 to the dyno and we'll solve this.

There needs to be a better way to measure this stuff. I understand the importance of increased power, but 0-60 has almost zero "real world" meaning.

When was the last time somone went from 0-60 in ANY vehicle in terms of regular day to day driving?
Maybe 0-40 (Taking a right turn into brisk traffic).
I think the bigger concerns are the ability to merge or pass with 3 other people in the Jeep and the heat or AC on.

True. While we all routinely go from zero to sixty, say for example when you turn from a traffic light onto a highway entrance ramp, you don't do it the same way you'd do a "0-60" test.

When Motortrend did their 0-60 test, they floored it, got to the 3.6's peak performance RPM (around ~6400 IIRC), upshifted, and floored it again. They were probably above 4000 RPMs--where the 3.6 makes much of its power--in less than 2 seconds and never went back until after they hit 60 mph. And I bet they never had to get out of second gear. Nobody drives like that.

That's not to say the 3.6 isn't going to provide a brisk driving experience, as it no doubt does. It's just that those with new Wranglers shouldn't actually expect to be hitting 60 mph in under 7 seconds as a routine matter.

You don't drive a Pentastar Wrangler, it decides if it wants to take you where you want to go.

You guys have it all wrong. The Pentastar doesn't take you anywhere at all. It brings where you want to be to where you are already at so you don't have to move at all.

You must be an evolutionist.
For Creationists, it would be: On the first day, God made the heavens and the earth. On the second day, God made the Pentastar. And it was good, and there was much rejoicing.

Counting is beneath The Pentastar. It created God. When God learned to count to one, He created the heavens and the earth. The Pentastar told God to create man in His own image so that they would be able to build engines in The Pentastar's image.

You guys have it all wrong. God created the Earth in 7 days. But the Pentastar can destroy the Earth in 6.7 seconds.

And the Earth rotates to counter the Pentastar's power, otherwise we'd all be thrown from the planet, and essentially killed by the Pentastar.
