2 Dr JK - Seat won't fold & slide for rear passenger

The release still allows the seatback to fold forward, but the seat won't budge.

The only way a rear passenger can get out is to have the front seat passenger use the seat adjuster to move the seat forward.

Anybody know the fix for this?

Mine did the same thing, or should I say didn't do it. I took it back to the dealer and had it repaired under warranty. I believe they ordered a new cable and track IIRC. It has worked fine ever since.

I had the same problem, but I kept working it till it finally worked. I haven't had a problem with it since.

mine does the same thing. driver side seat won't fold up to allow access to the back. i like it though. all my friend's are d*cks. they never respond to texts, make me drive, stingy with money, etc. so i make it a big hassle for them. no grab handles, no step, passenger must get out to let someone in the back in or out...it really sucks for them and i love it.

they think my seat doesn't move up either. it does, i'm just not doing it i laugh when whoever is behind me has to sit sideways or gets a cramp. i bomb over bumps and have all kinds of random crap in the back seat too. tow straps, wood blocks, quarts of oil, rags, jumpers...all bouncing around with them.

i want the ride as unpleasant as possible.

Problem solved. The pin that engages the remote release inside the the outermost seat rail had slipped out of its slot.

Another Jeeper told me the secret. It's not a difficult fix to re-set the pin, but it is in an awkward location.

Thanks to all who responded!

Any possibility of getting a step-by-step of this process?
