2" lift on stock wheels/tires

Looking at a BDS 2" coil lift.

I have 255/75 17 tires on it now. Wanting to go to 285/70 17 in future. year or more. stock tires has lots of tread left

How will it ride with a 2" lift on stock tires? The guy at the shop around here said you have to do the wheels and tires at the same time or it could ride bad. raise the center of gravity without a wider stance. Wheels 4.5 bs.

This is a dd/family jeep. Mall crawler. right now the only mud it will see is in a puddle in the road. When paid off it will see little off road.

new to all this. Have had 4x4 trucks but kept stock. Light off road.

Thanks,

I'm sure you have to do the wheels and tires if he's selling them to you. Based upon how you're going to use it I would leave the suspension stock. If you're looking for a lifted "look" then mod it to your personal taste, but up to 2" I would keep the wheels and tires. Why don't you wait untill you plan on doing more down the road and then decide what type of lift and wheels/tires will suit your need at that time.

Got the same setup on mine (for now) added 1.25" spacers $117.00 for set of 4 and rides fine, Just got back from 800 mile trip down to FL and no handling issues at 70-80 mph on the interstate..

I have the Teraflex 2.5 lift on my stock tires for about 5 months now. No appreciable difference at all.
