2007 Jeep Wrangler Drivers Seat Issues

Hello,

I recently have purchased a preowned Jeep Wrangler Sahara (now has 40,000 miles on it). After driving it for a few months I started to notice a "rattling" or shaking in the drivers seat. It is very annoying and can not for the life of me figure out where it is coming from or what could be causing it. It occurs when taking turns or hitting a rough patch in the road. It feels like a sliding or knocking from side to side. The rails or the seat are attached firmly and there appears to be no loose bolts etc... It almost feel like it is inside the seat somewhere. If you could offer some advice, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

j.

Hmmmmmmmm. Most everybody who reports a noise such as yours, it turns out to be the door latch. Put black electrical tape on the part on the door jam. If that solves it, replace when necessary. Wrap the tape around the metal for 3-4 wraps. This should give enough cushion to quiet the noise.

Thank you for the response.

It is not so much a noise but an actual rattle/shaking I feel in the seat bottom and back area. I may take it apart this weekend. It is driving my bananas.
