Talking 2007 JKU Sahara...

Hi, Ive been thinking of jumping on the Jeep bandwagon for quite sometime. I really want a 2012 Rubicon but there is no way I can afford it with my trade in. I have a 2009 nissan titan but I have just found a 2007 dark red JKU Sahara I am supposed to go tomorrow and finalize everything but I wanted to see what you guys thought. I know they are lacking in power but is there anything else I should know? It is a soft top mated with a 6 speed tranny. What should I look for with the jeep? I am used to having alot of power from my Titan but I have always wanted a Wrangler.

You will have 3:55 or 4:10 Gears. If I remember right the auto came with 4:10 stock and the manual came with 3:55 stock with 4:10 as an option. I have the 2007 Sahara Auto and it has the 4:10. You can take the VIN to a Jeep Dealer and they can pull up the build sheet to tell you what it has. Also you may want to do a Car Fax or similar check on it. The power will be less than your Titan but it will go places your Titan can only dream about. Go for it.

I have a 2010 and ive got 3:73 gears automatic trans, stock. Thought 3:55 were only stock in the TJ models, learn something new everyday.

3.55 is not an option for the JK. It's either 3.21,3.73, or 4.10 for all rubicon models and some saharas and sports but not many.. It's more common in 07 for 4.10 on a non rubi.

Accoriding to what I read the 07s had the 3:55s. Could have been a missprint.

Hmm I dont think so maybe on the Dana 35 rear models in 07. Above post should see if it has tow package if so 4.10 it is. Also I found that requesting a build sheet from Chrysler answered all my questions as to what the vehicle was equipped with Inside and out. Just email Chrysler with its VIN number and you'll get an answer within a day or two. Cheers good luck. Jared-

Ok, my bad. Went back and looked at it again and I read the wrong reference line. It was the 3:73. However, I still stand by going to Jeep with the VIN for the build sheet.
