2007 unlimited 4wheel drive shift knob???

I have a 2007 unlimited. I bought after factory shift knobs. I can not figure out how to remove the 4 wheel drive knob. I have done some research and everything I find says to pull the heck out of it... attempted that and even attempted to grab it with a vice grip and hammer it... not working.

Is this the correct way to do this or am I missing something?

lol...no, they're not. Sorry man.

Here are a couple that do address the 4wd knob. Looks like a PITA to me, but one of the methods should get it done.

That's what I have heard... yank like hell... I'll keep at it, just didn't want to bend anything or jack anything up. Thank you for the help
