2007 wrangler engine noise

I have a 2007 wrangler with the 3.8. Last year with 37,000 mile on it I had a problem with the engine and the valve seats needed replacement.
Thi year and 18,000 miles later i have another engine noiose and am now being told I need a camshaft or possible engine.
I did a google search for this problem and found a couple other people with issues and a youtube vidoe on the identical problem.
Has any one here had engine problems with the 3.8?

Welcome to the forum.

If you do a quick search you'll find a few owners that are reporting a bunch of clatter on cold start-ups.

My guess has been that it was caused by a brief period of hell caused by oil starvation.
My Jeep never made the noise; I had been using 0W-20 oil during the cold months. Until last weekend when I did an oil change with 5W-20; now it makes a little clatter at cold start...

That's a different noise than the canful-of-marbles noise.
That's the sound I used to get from my Kawasloppy when I needed to adjust the valves ---- but the 3.8 doesn't have adjustable valves...

Are you getting any puffs of smoke out of the tailpipe when you pull away from a traffic light?
