2008 Jeep Wrangler X Air Conditioner Problems

We bought a 2008 Jeep Wrangler used about a month and a half ago for my wife's mail route. A couple day's after she started using it the air would be working and all of a sudden just quit. There would be nothing coming out of the vent or anything happening has anyone experianced this and if so what was the problem?

Does it start working on its own again after a few seconds?

No, while she has been delivering the mail a couple it cuts off. If she cuts it off for a little bit it comes back on. Seem like the hotter it is outside the more it happens.
