2008 JK 4door won't start on an incline

Had a unique experience. Stopped my jeep in my drive which is fairly steep. Shut the enging down. Tank level was 3/8. Would not start....apparantly not getting any fuel. My neighbor walked over and said....Jeeps won't start facing downhill if there's not more than 1/4 tank of gas. I forced it out of park and coasted to the bottom of the driveway. Engine started right up. Has anyone had a similar experience. This sounds pretty nuts to me.

Haven't had that problem, but mine takes awhile to turn over on random occassions on flat ground. She always ends up starting, but it sometimes takes the starter a few seconds of effort. Anybody else have that? Gas tank is never less than 1/4 full.

happens once a week?!?

Yeah I have that problem at least once a week! I have a steep paved driveway, and if I pull the jeep in and it slopes downward it will not start at all and acts like its completely out of gas! The same thing happened on my black 2007. I am thinking the reason is the fuel pump sits in the back of the tank so when the fuels runs all the way to the front it doesnt allow the vehicle to get ample gas to start! Quick somple fix is I now back my jeep in the driveway so the gas runs to the back of the tank once it sits between half a tank and a quarter tank! Havent had an issue sine I started doing that!

Man I see all these issues with the JK and it scares me. I want to get a newer jeep sooner or later because I want a rubicon. I guess I'll just have to buy a little older jeep and stick with the tj.

Had it happen once. But I was less than a 1/4 tank though. Just coasted down the hill and started it when it was level.
