I am new to this board, so if the answer to this question is somewhere else, please forgive me...
I own a 2008 Wrangler, 4x4, 4-Door with 43k miles.
Recently, my Jeep has started making a load metallic rumble/clicking noise on start up that subsides after the initial turn over and the RPMs drop down to about 1000. I also hear the noise as I accelerate, usually above 2500RPMs. Lastly, when ever I decelerate quickly or stop then shift into reverse, the engine stalls, RPMs drop to 0 and shuts off. Luckly, she always starts right back up.
In my old vehicle, I had a leak in the exhaust manifold that sounded like this, but it was more high pitched ticking than my current lower pitch. My old car also didn't stall out, so I'm not sold on it as a leak.
Any thoughts on where I should start looking for trouble or what it might be?
