2008 Sahara - Back Window Issue

I recently purchased a 2008 Sahara and I absolutely love it...One problem I am having is that the back window is SOOOO tight, it is nearly impossible to zipper up! I have owned a few wranglers before this - 94 rio grande and 98 Sport and NEVER had a problem like this. Any advice?

Zipper lube and make sure the bar isn't snapped in.

Are you talking about trying to zip it in or unzip it and take it out? Are you saying that the window itself seems too small, or are you saying that the zipper mechanism seems to clench the teeth too hard? Might need a little more info here . . . .

both...i can't reach the zipper mechanism on the left side at all - and the right side zipper is engaged but i can barely move it... its difficult to describe the problem - it could be simply because its cold and the plastic get stiff but i've never had this problem in the past. the best way to describe it is that the back window just seems to be too small...how that happens, i don't know. my thought was that the top isn't on correctly since half of the zipper is attached to the top itself obviously...

As you said, it's "difficult to describe the problem."

If it's super cold, you shouldn't mess with it--the plastic could crack. Still, that doesn't sound like the problem.

Was it in correctly when you bought it? I suppose it's possible that you were given the wrong size rear window. I understood they were all the same from 2007-10, but I could be wrong. Maybe a 2 door versus a 4 door or some such thing.

Assuming it's the right window, is it in or out now? If it's out, I'd try moving both zippers to the right, zip the top one up to the center effectively zipping the right side, then unzip the right side by moving the bottom zipper up to the center as well. Then zip both zippers down each side simultaneously (or down each side one side at a time, but only a few inches at a time) to close the window. Then lock in the retaining bar above the tailgate.

If that totally misses your problem, you may have to post pictures. It shouldn't be this hard. Mine is snug, but fits without any issue.

I know that mine is hard to use even in warm weather but I manage. In temps below 60, I don't even bother with removing the rear window.

Sorry to hijack the thread,

I stopped and looked at an 07 and I'm gonna give here a drive 2nrw after work.
Beautiful jeep. It's blue and looks like it has 17" wheels. Have full info 2nrw.

So anyways, no complaints?

Oh 16800 was the price.
