Smile 2008 Sahara...how did I do?

New to the site! This is my 5th Wrangler, I have owned (87, 95 Sahara, 88 Laredo, 97 TJ Sport custom ordered) and now the 2008 Unlimited Sahara.

Long story short, the 03 F-150 4x4 decided to break in the snow last week, not locking in the hubs, and I had had enough of putting cash into it. I was randomly, more for fun, searching on eBay for Jeep prices because I just need something reliable, 4-doors and 4WD. Reliable, for now, I'll worry about tricking it out later.

At any rate, a 2008 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara popped up and was for sale at the Ford dealer 5 miles from me in suburban Highlands Ranch, CO (I had also purchased an 07 F-150 King Ranch from them).

They gave me what I wanted for the trade in on the truck ($10k), and I got the Wrangler for $21,900, hardtop, Sahara package, AUTO (which I wanted!), 55k miles on the clock, and the factory nav/GPS system. Loving the rig so far but wanted to see what the forum thought about the deal!!!!

It's super clean, but not literally as the last 2 snowstorms have stuck around in the neighborhoods all week and it's filthy. But the Jeep itself is in fantastic shape and the 4WD is working great and I've used it all week! I didn't even know it had remote start until I got home and saw it on the key, I have used it every day, it's so sweet in the Winter!

Oh, it also has 5 brand new Bridgestone Dueler a/t's. Not crazy about the tires, but hey they are new and will do for a bit, because I don't have to shell out for new tires now like I usually do on a used rig. BFG's or Hankooks coming next year, all the neighborhood Jeep rats (the 20 year old kids who hang at their folks for free meals haha) work at Discount and have been over a few times already wanting to start modding it for me!

OK that's my introduction to everyone...hello and happy Jeepin'! Pic from the dealer lot last week...

Ted - rockymountainhigh

PS: do not check eBay for fun just to source pricing or you might end up with a new Jeep in the span of about 8 hours!!!

I'm not a fan of silver on the 2 door Wrangler but it looks really good on the 4 door. I've had several silver vehicles and it's a good color.......

I like the silver with the black hard top, thank you both for the comments! I also like the painted fenders as they won't fade like the black ones. My 95 Sahara had painted fenders and they held up great...the best part is that I don't have to worry about accessories, just order black or the black texture and it will look decent and not clash!

All you're gonna have to do is setup an aux cooler for the auto-

My Hankooks are PRIMO also--sounds like it was a good buy=

Treat her well and she'll repay you

Congratulations!

I've been driving my 08JK for 14 months now with no issues ongoing....

after the factory replaced the spurting gas tank, and I installed DStern headlights!

You're going to have more fun than your previous schedule allowed....and Spring is coming soon!

Nice choice. I read somewhere on 'complaints' 08 was a primo year with fewer issues.

Very cool, I see you getting black rims and tires in less than a year. Then your bit, mod'ing excessively because its fun as you've never had a vehicle as cool/fun as that. Seems to have been a very good deal.
