2009 JK high kms. Risky purchase?

I usually post in the TJ thread about my 2003 but I recently traded it for a mustang GT.

Now I'm looking for another jeep! I found a 2009 automatic for a good price but it has 390,000 kms. Just wondering how these hold up with high mileage and what I could be getting myself into. It was used as a truck for a security company so I would hope it's had its regular maintenance !

Any insight?? Thanks guys!

That is a lot of km/miles on a 3.8l engine. My 09 has 80 000 miles on it and is starting to burn oil, as the 3.8 liters often do.

I'd look for another jeep, or be prepared for an engine rebuild or replacement.

The 09's had lifetime warranties in the US when they were sold new. I had an '09 and I would be hesitant to buy one with almost 250K miles even if was well maintained and not driven off road, UNLESS the price was according low. After 72K miles I put on mine, it was trouble free; even the driveline was OK in spite of running 37's for a while and it was not burning oil ... yet.

Maintenance may have been as required but how well do employees treat company vehicles? Just a consideration.

That lifetime warranty was only for the original owner and non-transferable. You also had to get a dealer inspection every 5 years to keep it valid as the original owner.
