2009: Manual transmission - rough?

I've got an 09 wrangler, manual 6 speed transmission - I love it.

Seems to be sometimes rough going into 1st, 2nd, etc gears..not like any resistance, just like you need to put extra effort into it that I haven't had in past cars (just coming off of an 06 standard honda accord which was very smooth).

Was just wondering if this was normal for jeeps, etc.

Can't really compare the Jeep to the Honda. I have a manual transmission Audi and they are night and day. I was uneasy at first with the sounds and feel of the jeep when shifting, but I went up to a dealership and test drove some new and some used JK's and found out that it was just how the Jeeps are.

I think the syncros are a little stiff especially if you are moving a little fast for the gear. I typically go into second until I'm almost at a walk before going into first but downshifting from third if I'm moving along will be somewhat difficult to get it into second gear. I don't typically go into first unless I'm stopped. I had a 63 dodge dart and that had no synchro in first. Only way to get into first on that car was at a stop. I cut my teeth on it and because I know it is hard on the synchro when it is constantly being stuffed into first at any speed I always do it stopped or just about stopped.

In four low, the synchros are a bit clacky in every gear.
