I have my appointment to install it for the 21st of this month. They have the parts at the dealer now, but I just can't get over there until then. The service manager said it looks like the right parts, a new wider bar, and then the plate with the swiss cheese looking hole pattern. I hope this is the right stuff, but it sounds like it! I will let you know the outcome!

Just got the call from the dealer that the skid plate has been installed and that it is ready to go! I hope everyone else that is missing it will get theirs installed. Calling Chrysler made the difference for me.

So I have had my Jeep since February of last year, but just joined this forum yesterday. Glad I did, I will be checking under my '10 Unlimited Sahara (Auto) tonight to see if I have all 3 or just 2... I also requested my build sheet from Jeep. It took awhile to figure out how to request it online but if you go to the website you can just fill out a request to get it. The number previously posted in this thread is for Crysler Canada, not sure if it would work for those of us in the USA or not.
Contact Jeep

We shall see if I am a "plater", "bar whore", or "nudist"

Well I got my 2011 jk last week and had the bar. Thanks to this thread I was able to get the missing part ordered. It took me, the parts director , service guy, and mechanic to figure it out. Ultimately it was the parts guy and the part number listed earlier in this thread. The mechanic and service guy were aggravated with me and were shocked when they found the part. I think it wad listed under transfer skid plate. The jeep web site shows the bar but also says the automatic transmission plate wasnt shown. It took a while for the service rep to understand me but then thought the web site was wrong. I stood my ground and the parts guy was great. They ordered the part and three bolts cuz the skid bar isn't the correct housing for the skid plate. I was so excited when they found it.

Thanks to everyone on this thread who commented and gave the part number.

All in all it took about 30 minutes. Thats after they got the parts for the missing soft top rails figured out.

Now onto the Sirius travel link and traffic mess. Anyone know how I can get the esn for traffic and travel? I have the main Sirius id number.

Thanks again!

Did they get it right? I'm at the dealer now and the bar came in. They said they can't get the plate anymore but if I could get they part number then he would try. I have the path number from earlier in this thread and that ended up being the bar.

Yes! Mine is completely right. I do not have the exact part numbers on my invoice from the service visit. It just says dealer to install skid plate. Check back in the thread and I believe that the part numbers are listed. They should be the same part numbers as the 2010 which the dealer should have on the computer. Hope this helps!

Transmission skid plate part # is...

The part number for the SKID PLATE, Transmission is: 52022134AE (which superseded P/N: 52022134AC).

The mounting hardware is: D6104444AA

This is from the mopar web page:
Jeep Wrangler Parts - The Official Jeep Parts eStore offered by Chrysler

(use the part number for the search or you will have a fun time finding it)

so its safe to assume that its supposed to be a plate and not a bar and we could either talk them into getting the plate or some money or credit for it. I have the bar so im gonna find out as well. MY question is what does the fuel tank skid plate shield look like because all i see is a fuel tank with nothing covering it and my window sticker says fuel tank skid plate and witch one is the transfer case skid plate. Its all new to me and tryin to figure out what goes were thanks

LOOK closely - the Skid Plate attaches to the Skid Bar.
This is what should be there

I would do both and be persistent because you are probably going to face some resistance on the whole situation. Bring as much info from this thread as possible too!

Well i stopped in and they are puzzled by it as i expected. Looks like they are "looking into it"..

They have this forum as a tool i hope to find what they need to get this resolved. ( i gave them the forum info )

So If for some reason they dont go for it i will need to call Chrysler i guess and take it through the steps. I will have to look back into the thread and see how everyone else's issue was handled.

Bring your sticker and build list

I brought my sticker, my build sheet, 2011 wrangler brochure, and the part number. This answered their questions and my skid plate has now been ordered...I brought the issue to the dealer on Monday and they called me today (Wednesday) to confirm that the part has been ordered. I'm not sure what level they went to on the dealership's end before they made the decision but it appears to have been handled fairly quickly and easily. We'll see how it works out because I don't fully believe most businesses until I have the merchandise in-hand...

You do not have the skid plate! That bar is not the plate! Go to your dealer

My build sheet and window sticker both said transmission skid plate, so in your case I am not sure?

If I am reading this correctly....This is the part # for the plate only and mounting bolts. What about a part # for the crossmember the plate bolts to?

The plate is welded to it's own bar...

Well folks, I spoke too soon. My part came in and lo and behold, it was the same damn bar that's already on my Rubicon! The parts guy told me that the part number for the bar superseded the part number I provided him (which I got from the MOPAR web site!)...He agreed with me that the part did not meet the definition of "plate" and he offered to continue the research for the appropriate piece...

The plate I received is not welded to the bar at all. Mine is a new bar that is much wider than the previous bar that was there, and the plate gets bolted to that new bar. I wish I had exact part numbers for everyone, but the dealer would not let me see what they ordered, probably guessing that I would post on a forum and cause a mad race to dealerships.my invoice only states install trans skid plate as per Chrysler at no charge.

My dealer is talking with a district Chrysler rep. to get this figured out. To me that doesnt sound like it will end well. But i'll take it to the high court if needed.

Like a lot of folks on this board it may not make a bit of difference to me right now but soon enough the vehicle will see some offroad action and i want what i paid for,,..

Double check when you bought your jeep -- the website has updated/changed the photo of skid plates -- they no longer have the one in the center front, just a bar across the bottom....
My 2011 Unlimited matched the website.

Not often that i quote myself,, but i just left the dealership and they havent even begun to talk to the district manager. I was at the dealership for 45 minutes and left feeling less impressed than when i arrived.

Been 3 weeks now.
