2010 Jeep Wrangler Sahara

Had the new Sahara since December. On the highway or residential roads I get this vibration or "click" in the steering wheel and in the accelerator at all speeds. I can even be stopped and wiggle the wheel back and forth and notice it. Driving down the highway I do the same thing slight wiggles or changing lanes/turning I get the same thing. Had it in the dealer this past weekend and they said everything is fine. Now that I notice it I think it has gotten worse, more of an annoyance factor but I am looking for ideas on what is going on. I dont want to see a major issue 30K miles down the road...thoughts?

I saw the answer for this somewhere on one of the forums. There is a sleeve on the steering column under the hood. It slides down from where it should be causing the issue.

Is it like there's some play in the steering wheel??

If so, that could be a result of the steering mechanism being a gear box.

I took my Sahara back to the dealer a few weeks after I got it because I was worried about the steering feeling weird and having some play to it...

The 'Jeep guy' at the dealership took it for a drive with me and said it was normal.
My previous vehicle was rack and pinion, which feels very different from a gear box steering mechanism....

Maybe that's your issue?

I read a thread on another forum about that issue....

Is it OK to post a link to another forum on here?

There's a thread with a fix for that issue.....
