2010 wrangler luggs

Hi,
My wife's 2010 Wrangler RHD auto seems to shift early when going about 40 mph and it pulls the engine down to about 1200 rpms or less. When this happens , it makes a sound / vibration that is "new" to the wife.
I have told her to run the ECO off , no lugging, But it only started doing this since 90,000 miles. Is there a computer reflash available that will address this. She seems to think the tranny is going., I do not believe this.
Engine has been maintained and tuned up.
Any ideas?
Dennis
