2011 Jeep Rubicon JK Unlimited starting build today!!! FOSSIL HUNTER

Ok I have finally rounded up all the parts and over the next week and a half will have them installed.

AEV 3.5" Lift Dualsport SC with Bilstein Shocks
35" Toyo MT's mounted on XD Monsters (Black)
Smittybilt XRC Front Bumper with a Warn winch 9.5 XP (Linex'd Black)
Smittybilt XRC Rear Bumper with HD Tire Carrier and Tow Hitch (Linex'd Black)
Smittybilt XRC Rock Sliders (Linex'd Black)
Body Armour Roof Rack and Roof Basket (Linex'd Black)
Bushwacker Flat Style Flares (Linex'd Black)
Smittybilt Pillar Light Bracket (Linex'd Black)
Rigid 50" E series Light Bar mounted on the Body Armour Roof Rack
Rigid 30" E series Light Bar mounted on Smittybilt XRC front Bumper
Rigid Dually D-2 Mounted on Smittybilt A pillar mounts
Rigid Dually D-2 Mounted on back of Body Armour roof rack.
Beamer HID kit w/interface wiring kit
Tinted Windows
Kenwood 2 way radio.

The Rigid Lights will all be wired up to switches mounted in the A pillar.

I will be looking at stereo upgrades after these installs are complete. Maybe a Kenwood DNX 9980hd with Bluetooth and Reverse camera. Have it in my 2012 F350 and 08 F350 and LOVE IT. Not sure it will fit in the Jeep dash yet.

Other Possible near future mods

Programmer (when they become available)
Exhaust System
Front Driveshaft
Super low Tcase
Interior Grab Handles

I will be posting pics throughout the Build. Sooo excited to finally build up a Jeep. My girls can't wait to take our new baby out for a rip when she is all done.

Going to be slick.

I'd add "gears" to your list of likely future mods as well.

Not sure on that? Was told by AEV that it is not a necessary mod? Anyone can chime in please.

Yes, definitely need a driveshaft for 3.5" of lift. Might be ok if you stay on pavement. If you take it off road and disconnect the sway bar, you will tear the boot and eventually it will fail.

According to what I've read, 2" or under will be fine without replacing the DS. If you go over 2", you will eventually tear the boot while off road and disconnected.

On the 4 door auto, you will need to replace the front DS. Rear will be fine. Not necessary on the manual, but then again, not sure about that either at 3.5".

If you do a search on driveshaft, you will probably find dozens of threads. I don't think you will need it immediately, but according to this build, looks like you're not exactly hurting for cash.

Since I started offroading and web wheeling.. for the JK it has always been 2.5in and the JKU 3in.. Afther that a new drive shaft will be required

So with that make sure you get that drive shaft asap..

There seems to be some variance with the driveshaft thing. Some guys seem to get away with relatively big lifts for long stretches of time, some guys need new ones almost immediately. If you're not going to do it preemptively ahead of time, just make sure to keep your eye on it.

Thanks guys. I will look into finding a replacement and probably have it done when I do the gears. Any recommendations on the front shaft?

All your feedback is much appreciated!!

I'm green! I love that rack, it looks strong enough to put my Jeep on top of yours.

I got the rubicon express front ds when I lifted mine, my lift was 4 inch but the stock shaft wouldn't even come close to bolting up, probably almost 2 inches away. Trying to find some pics I had of it.

Go team white! Nice build, I ran my 3+" for 5000 miles no problem, I just added a Coast 1310 front DS, $550 installed, seems like good insurance

Yeah, any 1310 should do just fine. I went with a JE Reel 1310.

Better to do it from the start because if your stock DS is in perfect shape, you can sell it. I listed mine in the for sale section and sold it in about 2 weeks for $100 + shipping.

LOL.. be nice one day to have my own back yard rink to play some shinny on...

Question.. I know you love your lights.. to much light is never a bad thing.. but I must ask do you worry at all about your bumper led light bar getting damaged from brush and various trail obsticles you might run over
