2011 JK 3" lift w/ 35in Tires, any concerns

This is a question for my buddy! He has a new 2011 JK sport unlimited 4-door and a shop wants to put a 3 inch "ready lift" with 35 inch tires. Will he have issues with the drive shaft w/o modifing the transfer case and/or drive shaft. Angle issues? I recommended 33 inches tires!

35" tires will be fine with a 3" lift and since its a 4DR he wont need any driveline mods until he passes the 4" threshold

Only thing i would recommend is getting new gears...those 35" will slaughter your power.
4.88's or 5.13's would be ideal.

Keep on rockin in the Jeep world!

Here's mine with a 3" suspension lift and 35s. No driveline issues yet, even disconnected. It is a manual though, autos will have to keep an eye on the front driveshaft boot.

Your buddy is going to want to have it regeared too.

If it's an actual lift made by Ready Lift, I'm sure it's way overpriced. I guess their advertising pays off. They make a lot of leveling kits for pickup trucks that sell for over twice what identical kits sell for from other manufacturers.

The tires on most of these, even though they are P-Metric are already 33" I want to put 35s on mine and am not even planing on putting on a lift kit. That is only 1" extra in radius and should not cause any clearance problems. I know that On my Sahara Unlimited they measure 32.6" on the factory tire P255-70,R18. Now, The question is; will any 35" A/T tires fit the stock factory 18" rim?

Yes, but spacers are needed. It would be more cost effective to actually buy new wheels.

I eventually will most likely install a 3" lift but I wanted to stay with a 18" rim, OE, aftermarket, or otherwise. I would hate to go down to the most common 15" rim. 16" would be bad enough.
