2011 JK Sport

Looking to buy a 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport. What is the gear ratio for this jeep? I am going to lift it with a BB kit and run 33s in the future, I'm pretty sure this will all work together. Anyone see a problem with this idea?

What's the transmission? A friend of mine has 35s on a 6 speed JKU and 3.21 gear ratios and it dogs a bit. My JKU auto has 3.73 gears and 33s and is fine; with OD off it drive almost like it had 5.13s

I will have no problem waiting until I put a D44 axle in front and regear

IF your sticking with 33's you will be just fine with auto transmission and the stock 3:73's ..if you jump to a 35 you might not be to happy..

I have 2011 jeep wrangler sport unlimited. Mine came with 3.23 gears and stock 32" tires, power is lacking so I am changing the gears in the next month to some stock 3.73 gears. I will let you know on an update in the next month or so when I get them in to tell the difference, if your not in that much of a rush on your purchase. I am not satisfied with lack of power in 5 and 6th gear 2, 3, 4 seem kind of ok but I do let get up to 3000 to 3500 before shifting.

It's the manual trans. what do you think if I run this set up (BB and 33s) and install a jet chip?

Manual trans on a sport would be 3.21 and with 33's shouldn't be a problem. I have that trans and 35's and it is fine around town, just lacks some passing power on the highway.

Are you buying off the lot or ordering? If ordering I would kick in the extra $50 bucks and go with the 3.73 gears on the JKU.

I "built" mine on jeep.com then printed it off and handed it to the dealer so he knew exactly what I wanted.

Yea best to order because it cost about $600 for parts and me and friend are doing the swap. This swap would also void your warrenty if they find out about it, but don't think they would beable to know unless they actually open up and look at the gears.
But on the other hand u won't beable to haggle the price sense there is no incentive to get it off there inventory. You can always tell them what u want and have them find one at another dealership and they can swap it for one on there inventory. Just make sure they have right stuff on it because I told them I wanted 3.73 gears and we didnot find out it dd not have but 3.23 till after we were home with the jeep and been out mudding in it that weekend.

I own a 2011 Jeep JK Sport with a 6-speed and it came stock with 3:21 gears to save fuel mileage. I put a set of 17" XD Hoss wheels with what's a little bit larger than 33's but not by much and that thing loses power on freeway hills and if the wind is blowing against it. Everyone keeps telling me to go to 4:88's because when these tires wear out I want to go to 35's but I think that's too step of a gear.

Up-Grade--Down Shift. Try 4th. Works great on the hills here!
