2011 JKU Driver seat - Can it go farther?

Anyone know of a simple adjustment to make the stock seat position go farther back? I need maybe 1-2 inches then I would be a happy camper. I looked under the seat at the tracks and could not see what was stopping the track. Anyone have an easy solution other than taking out and re-drilling new holes?

I guess that you're taller than I am, or the 2011's are shorter seating than my '08 JKU-

I'm 6'4" ++ and my seat can't go all the way back, because I've gotta harness bar, so mine is a little forward and the back is tilted, to semi-recline-got plenty room !!

This shot might show the angles

I'm 6'2" and the front is cramped and the new '11 seat is not too comfy. I am looking for small tweaks as I am almost comfortable. The demo I drove was the stock leather and I "thought" the cloth was the same - not at all the same feeling. My Plan B will be to replace the seats with the leather and bite the bullet. It would be nice if the seat base tilted but it doesn't.

The 2011's have a longer seat, hence leg room is a little less.

Aftermarket seats would be the only solution I see

Heh Heh, I get questioned almost every time I show that pic-I had that "suicide" knob from years ago and I putit on, to teach my wife how to backup the trailer-(off-road)-you know-look back out the rear window and move the bottom of the steering wheel in the direction you want the trailer to go-

That worked and now she knows-

I didn't leave iton -

Resurrecting an ancient thread. Can anyone point me in the direction of a write-up to drill the seat brackets? I keep finding references to doing this (there are three bolts, and you can move the seat back about 2 inches if you shift back 1 bolt in line or something), but haven't found an actual description of the mod.

You have the idea right. Reuse one of the holes at the front and drill two new holes at the back of the rails. It's about 1" gained.

I was looking for a writeup because I read somewhere that you can set off the passenger airbag if you go messing with the seat brackets without knowing what you're doing...

Disconnect the battery. But I don't see why there would be a risk of the air bag deploying. A lot of very specific safety factors have to be activated before the airbag goes off...

It's very simple if you are mechanically inclined.

Disconnect battery.
Disconnect seat wires.
Unbolt rails from chassis.
Take whole seat out.
Unbolt seat from rails.
Measure 3 times drill once.
Put back together.

Like I showered above you can get 1".... Now sure what methods is used to get 2" without compromising structural integrity or the original design.

Great!
Then by all means do not try this b\c 1" of extra leg room can not logically be better for your knee angle regardless of how far you recline the seat...lol

Every thread I have seen regarding the topic of legroom has devolved into a series of testimonies from tall people, saying "but I'm very tall and I don't need more leg room!" Great. Have fun being tall and comfortable. We're all built differently, and some of us have our knees in the dash. Your comment is equivalent to someone posting on a pentastar ticking thread that their engine works fine. Good for you, broseph.
