2011 owners I need your help on this one

ok its simple you would think
all I want to do is be able to hook my i pod up to my 2011 jeep wrangler, and also have it charge.. even better if I could control it from the big screen nav, thing I ordered as an option......

so I need the help of you 2011 owners. to let me know what up, with extra usb hubs in center consoles and all that.

thanks follow link to original thread for more info
I look forward to hearing form 2011 owners who can get me on track
I suppose if I had my jeep this would be much easier, but I am looking to get things in order prior to it getting here.

All that you need is the standard iPod to USB cable and plug it into the usb port in the center console. I have the Connectivity group, so I don't know if this is on all 2011's.

It's only on the Connectivity Group. But the Rubicons with Nav have it automatically according to the site.

NEWWRANGLEROLDCJ7, based on the information in your profile, you WILL have the remote USB port in your center console. So you take that cable that connects your ipod to the computer, disconnect it from the computer and plug it in to the USB port in the center console.

That's it. There's nothing else to do.

ok so that should allow my i pod to be charged at the same time while in the jeep, and does it allow the the control of song choice to take place on the nav screen, or do I have to hand bomb it with the i pod thats plugged into the center console.

thanks for the info, it seems basic but I had no idea.

You can select songs from the radio display.

You will be able to use the touch screen on the nav to choose your songs. If you have voice you will also be able to hit the voice command on the steering wheel and say the song you want to hear as well as use the buttons on the back of the steering wheel to choose the song. It's a pretty sweet setup I think.
