I had mine in last Monday for its first oil & filter change (1010 mles). On my receipt (free service from my Dealer with a cupon!) it said that the passinger door seal was replaced. I had had zero issues, and had not complained about it so a fix must be in for them to do it.

My Sport w/Hard Top just sat thru a tropical storm and is as dry as it should be.....no leaks anywhere.

It is one of the major functions of a modern vehicle, to keep the interior dry during a rain storm. As the vehicle ages, all bets are off...after all, it is a jeep.

Good to know. I'm one of those that feels if I spend "upwards of 30+ thousand on a vehicle" it better not leak. I'm glad there is the lemon law to back that up. I was under the impression it only dealt with mechanical and safety issues that couldn't be fixed. I would have hoped that by 2012 Jeep would have gotten the leak gremlins out of the Wranglers. Reading on this site and others it seems they've had the problem for years.

They had many fit and finish, and possibly design issues in the 07 and early 08. If you had been on this forum during that time period, there were a lot of leaking jeeps being reported. The frequency now is way down compared to then. That was when the JK was a new model. I firmly believe that the engineers have been learning the problems and figuring out best methods to keep water out. It would be contrary to good business practice to ignore such a significant issue. There are however so many sealing surfaces and in so many different configurations that I don't think it will ever be perfect.

Ok I bought a 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited September 29, 2011 and it has leaked from the very first day. Every time it rains the carpet is wet under the floor mats in the front both driver and passenger side. The dealer has replaced the T-top seals twice and I just picked it up today and the carpet is wet again on the drivers side because it rained all day yesterday. I am taking it back to the dealer I purchased it from and if they can't fix it I am going to try to force the lemon law on the dealer. I am fed up with Chrysler and I just want my money back. This is my 4th Chrysler vehicle and my last. I don't see an end to this water leak issue. The dealer I took it to says he can't fix it and it has been an ongoing problem with several Jeeps. I am terribly dissapointed. I have wanted this Jeep Wrangler for several years and being able to take the T-tops off and ride around when I first got it was great but I can't put up with my floors being wet all the time and I worry about mold in the carpet and what that will do to my lungs. Even if they get it fixed I am afraid that 3 years down the road when the warranty runs out that it will leak again and then the repairs will be my problem. I just want my money back. $32,000 is a lot of money to spend on a vehicle that leaks. Chrysler needs to put a trolling motor and hang some fishing poles out the back hatch and advertise the Wranglers as so versatile that you can go deep sea fishing everytime it rains. I'm so damn mad Fords are starting to look GOOD!!!!

i know the feeling all to well. my 07 soft top never stopped leaking above the door handles. no matter what was tried.

move foward to my new arctic. i went up to eye it up on their lot after some heavy rain. peeked inside. nothing. when i test drove it felt around everything. nothing. BEFORE i signed the papers, i soaked it down with a hose good in their detail bay. nothing.

washed it in the driveway monday. nothing.

it sat monday night into tuesday afternoon with some moderate/light rain. went to go to work and looked over at the passengers side door. i saw a few drips of water running down from the upper back corner of the door frame! you got to be kidding. OMG! TOOK IT IN WEDNESDAY MORNING. they readjusted the door and tested it. (out of factory specs). we had a heavy rain last night/this morning. fixed. man i freaked when i saw that on my new arctic. credit to my dealer for putting it right. i pray to the jeep gods thats it!!

That sucks. You'd think after all the years this roof has been in service they'd nail the leak issues. I know the whole Jeep thing etc, but.........water inside a vehicle can cause problems and in some cases health issues.

Has anyone said screw it with the removable top and tried sealing it and making more permanent? Did it work? Stupid question to some I realize, but I was wondering that's all. Maybe there are a few people that really want their Jeeps leak free and can live w/o taking the top off if that's the only choice they have.

Merry Christmas!

There is always a solution that will work for YOU that you shouldn't have to resort to this drastic a cure. Believe me when I say that it will matter less to you as your vehicle ages if you are a true jeep fanatic. Eventually, if you own it long enough the carpets will be out and the tub will be bedlined. Mine is an 08 and is 3-1/2 years old. This next summer may be bedlining year. My son's 92 YJ is bedlined with no carpets. After an outing of frolicking in the mud or a stiff rain when water gets in we just pull the plugs and all is well. If you don't own it that long then the next owner who invests less than you did (because used means less money involved) it will eventually matter none. This is what people mean when they say it is a jeep thing.....not that you should accept this in a new vehicle from the factory leaking like a sieve.
