2012 2-Door JK with the 130 media center stock radio and uConnect.
Does anyone know: is uConnect a separate module or part of the stock radio?

I'm thinking of swapping out the radio but don't want to lose the uConnect/Hands-free features.

Thanks.

There is a company called ADS(iDatalink),
that is going to make a aftermarket Radio Replacement Interface (iDatalink Maestro) to keep the uConnect, factory sat tuner, steering wheel controls and even the factory usb port working.

As of now it is in the works.

Not sure when they will release it.

Currently the Maestro supports Ford Sync through 2012 Kenwood DNX models only.

Here's a promo video of it.

Interesting, I would have to question being able to retain the factory SAT radio in the Chrysler vehivlcles. Unlike the Ford where the SAT radio is a separate module, The SAT radio is part of the Chrysler factory radio.
