As to shocks, I didn't read through the links, but I'm pretty sure in 2011 they started including the same gas shocks on Saharas that have always come on Rubicons. Sports have always (and continue to) come with hydro shocks.
As to coil springs, they vary from Jeep to Jeep. The thinking is that the Rubicons tend to come with stiffer springs, but this assumption largely doesn't play out. Stiffer springs tend to be associated with 4 doors, hard tops, and tow packages, but there's definitely some randomness beyond that.
