2012 and iPhone location/mount

With the introduction of the new dash cargo area, the flat surface for sticking a mount on the dash has been severely crippled. Just wondering how you all are mounting one's iphones or other mobile devices. I like being able to see the screen so the cargo area isn't perfect.

Thanks

We use the Bracketron that mounts using the radios right side screws. Allows you to mount any phone holder, cb mich, or even a gps unit. We stock em!
Shown here is the new Ram X mount for about any phone.

I have the proclip and love it. Mounts right at top left of radio. Let's you use iPhone as a dashcam as well. Well built and no screws or adhesives needed; clips right in.

I find mounting unnecessary with Connectivity package. I find voice controls for phone work well, even with a family full of eastern european last names.

Yes, I admit browsing albums stinks via the 130. But serviceable.

No need for it as a GPS.

This probably doesn't help, but one of my favorite things about not getting the power windows/locks is that I get the little cubby in the middle of the dash. My iPhone 4 fits in there on an angle nicely, or a pack of smokes.

The pro clip looks cool, and I've seen them in folks cars before, but the pics on their site for the '12 jeep kind of suck and it's hard to tell how it even works.

iPhone also fits into the air vents perfectly, too.

Not a cheap method, but check out Vector's JKE-Dock. It is made to work with RAM mounts.

I put mine in that little indent under the hand brake, the bottom fits in there snug and so far so good... Saw that on here somewhere.

Suction cup window mount. The way the windows are in the Jeep, you can likely mount it fairly low and not obscure your vision.

Connectivity package for me. iPhone stays in my pocket and I just make calls through the UConnect and stream the music, as well.

Went ahead and ordered a proclip myself. Should be here Saturday. It was pricey but their customer service seemed outstanding.

I put mine on the top tray of the center arm rest and leave it plugged in to the usb sync cable to the USB port underneath. There is a handy detent in the side of the tray to route the cable and the phone stays hidden and charged. Plus if it is plugged in like this you can browse podcasts and music on the phone through the 730n's interface. Can't beat that!

Yep, it swivels. I never peeled the sticky and stuck it to the dash because I wanted to be able to lock it up. It's great for a dash cam too...

Got mine today and already love it. Aside from having several screws left over it looks great.

Well you should only need 4 screws to mount the holder to the clip. Maybe they sent extras. Good stuff, enjoy!

Do you have the navigation also or just the normal radio setup? I am asking because the streaming I thought could only be done with the Nav type stereo.

I do not have navigation, just the basic 130 radio, but I have the connectivity package so I can stream from my iphone via uconnect or plug it into the aux jack.

I do not use an Iphone, but I have my phone mount suctioned to the window just above the dash cubby. You can place it low enough that the phone sits down into the cubby a bit and cause no obstruction.
