2012 Call of Duty Front Bumper fun

Just picked up my COD from the dealer. I got it home to install my Warn Winch in the "Winch Ready Bumper" only to find that its not Winch ready.... After removing the Winch Delete cover plate I found that there was no Winch mount or Fairlead bracket. Went back to the dealer who had no clue or understanding on the issue and told me that they only see a standard front bumper on my VIN report. Anyway a quick call to AEV revealed a Mopar part number 82213164 and for about 500 bucks you can be Winch Ready... (I hope - I don't have the kit yet )) Good to see the dealers are up on all the package support issues.......

AEV makes a *winch ready* bumper. You either purchase the winch plate, or the cover plate if you don't install a winch. That is the wording. As much as I like the AEV bumpers, that's the reason I went another direction. Everything is a la carte... but it is winch ready, in so much as there is a place inside the bumper to mount the winch. Oh yeah... after you buy the winch plate

BTW.... are there attachment points installed for towing? You may need to purchase those also...

You bought a prespec COD. The 50 or so that were shipped around the nation were built and shipped in less than a week. The parts needed for the winch/lift were not available when Jeep built the first ones as they were in a time crunch. They wanted the jeeps out when the game was released. It's not a dealer issue, it's a mopar issue. We show accessories that we don't have part numbers for, and no timeline when we'll actually get the part numbers to order the accessories.

Though I agree that they should have known you have a different bumper. Just to tell you what a cluster it was when they shipped the CODs, they told us we were getting one in black and we received one in silver with a totally different VIN.

So I ordered my MW3 Rubicon which due to arrive the first week of January, will it have the winch mount installed or will I have to buy it as an accessory?

Sorry to hear that your bumper isn't really 'winch ready'. When I read the post, I about freaked since I have one on order.
Thanks, Pat for the clarification. Seems that MOPAR should address it as an issue for the first 50 if they paid for 'winch ready' bumper. Course maybe you weren't charged the same as we were for our build. Good luck.

I'm still trying to get confirmation one way or the other. Monday I am going to ask a higher up at mopar. I can't wait any longer for answer myself as I have a client who really needs to know.

Looking forward to this answer as I did go through with the order for mine as well at Fields in Samford, FL. Thanks again Pat for putting me in touch with the right guy there. Dennis is great.

Actually, while you are at it Pat, maybe you could clarify about the hood as well. Some of the COD Jeeps I have seen at the car shows show the hoods with the air vents built in, but I know all the ones that were shipped to dealers did not have them. So what will the hood look like?

Thanks for all the replies, Pat's response has really explained why there's so much confusion (at least in the Tri-state area) around this option. I've seen 3 on dealer showroom floors, all going for over sticker, all Silver, all missing the required winch hardware. I found one in Atlanta at a very good discount which I purchased and drove back to NY. Here's a few pictures of when I picked it up at the dealer. I'll snap a few more in the morning so you can see the interior. I'm really very happy with it, super comfortable and excellent fitment and finish.

What bonnet is that? I thought they had the AEV bonnet, but there is no vent on the side where the snorkel would go, and the lumps on the bonnet look just like, well, lumps! (As in not vents)

LOL yup, no vents at all.... Makes a nice pool or ice skating ring when water accumulates. Gives me something to distract me when I'm sitting in traffic but I do wonder how long it will take for the first lawsuit from a piece of ice dislodging and cracking a windshield......I think I'll get my drill out now.

Power Dome = No frills AEV bonnet.

Mopar screwed the Pooch on this edition
from what I understand, you cannot add the vents to the Mopar Hood either

Here's the email I received back

You had asked about the winch and winch mount for the Call Of Duty special edition Jeep. The winch mount needed is p/n 82213164, and the winch p/n is 82209325AC or AD. This is the preferred and best winch Warn sells, and the one I use on our show Jeeps. The winch mount is in the final stages of launch, and you should have it when you get the vehicle.

The front bumper on the Call Of Duty has the cutouts and provisions for accepting the winch mount. Mopars other off road bumper does come with the winch mount as part of the bumpers structure, so it does not need a separate mount kit. Sorry for the confusion! I am going to revise the description somewhat to help this!

Geez what a waste of money. It would definitely be smarter to just by a Rubicon and order the AEV parts yourself!

Winch fun

I was a bit annoyed to find out that my Call of Duty was not truly "winch ready", but thanks to pat@fieldsauto.com I was able to the get the right part number to my local jeep dealer to order the winch kit. The price was $390 with out installation; they said two weeks for delivery so it should be here any day now. I'll post with more info and some pics when it comes in.

I need to replace my stock bumper since it was damaged (both the plastic bumper and beam where the bumper mounts). I really like the COD bimperial. Any idea where I can get this and for how much. I have been trying to get pricing and answers for few days without any luck. Please advise( I would like a solid bumper that extends over the front tires and uses existing fog lights).

You can order one from your dealer or direct from AEV or one of the venders on the forum like Quadratec or Northridge.

Jeep website showing Call of Duty bumper: (2012 Wrangler | Call of Duty®: MW3 Edition | Jeep)

Pretty sure it's this AEV bumper: (AEV 10305056AA - AEV Front Tubeless Bumper in Black for 07-12 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec)

At $1100, it's not exactly modestly priced. But some folks love the AEV look.

I was interested in the COD Jeep when I started looking, but didn't really want the COD badging...I ended up ordering a Rubicon Unlimited and the AEV bumpers with the Mopar part #s...found out at the last minute that they were unavailable...6 months back ordered! This was in the first week of March...a week before my Jeep was due in! That is how I ended up with the Warn Bumpers...best thing that could have happened to me!

This is what you need:

JK Winch Mount - 2012 Call of Duty MW3 Accessories - Shop By Category

$249. Be prepared to swear at the rear bolts on the skid plate when you go to put it all back together.

Also, did you notice that Mopar removed the ability to utilize the rear bumper tanks?
