I went to the local dealer after i noticed some cracks in the vinyl on the driver side seat (side of the seat). The person at the dealer took picts and said he would submit to chrysler for warranty claim approval. It has been 7 weeks and haven't heard anything back yet.
This seems like a rather long time to be waiting, i am going there tonight after work to inqure about this. I have spoke to the rep at the dealer 2 times in this period the last time about 3 weeks ago and he said he is still waiting to hear back. This seems like an abnormal time to be waiting for this does anyone else have any experience with this process. When i took it there the jeep was exactly 24 months old.
The cracks are not by the seat adjustment, but right on top where the real leather meets the "not real" leather. I called the IAMJEEP number at lunch today and the lady looked up all my info and said, i cant really tell you anything because its a Digital photo or some similar term. Pretty much she told me nothing.
I will recall the number and request a Case Manager and try that route.
I dont have one me right now, ill take some and submit later today. They are minor cracks. 3 are less than 1/8" and the 4th is like 2 plus inches. They are minor but for a 30K plus vehicle its pretty frustrating.
I had my seat replaced under warranty.it can take up to three months for a seat cover to come in.then i made another claim for the same seat the stitching was coming undone.this is where i hate XXXXX in princeton nj .they took my claim it took six months to come in.they never called me that it came in.i was there for an oil change and asked about it and they said o yeh its here.so i told them ill come back next saturday and have it put on.the following saturday comes i go in i tell them im here for my seat and they tell me they sent it back because they were doing inventory.i wanted to scream at the girl .she said would you like us to reorder it .i told them f**k no if its going to take another six months.i told the manager i will never be coming here again for anything.so i went home and orderd trek armor covers and got them in a week and never looked back .i hope you have better luck
I guess my biggest issue is the lack of communication from the dealer. He has blew me off twice already. I'm not a fan of that. Sounds like you had a similar situation.
They have been fantastic with me up to this. I should note i didn't buy it from them, i tried but when i asked them to look for the particular jeep i was in the hunt for they said they don't really do that.
So i called the IAMJEEP number at lunch today. The rep on the phone contacted the dealer while i was on the phone. She got the person i was dealing with on the phone with us and he informed me that the seat cover is in and will be replaced.
They are going to replace it next monday, he said that they have had the seat cover in for about a week?? The guy sounded irritated, but i tried to contact him 2 times and he never returned my calls. So thank you Wendy at IAMJEEP for getting it all sorted out for me.
