2012 Dash Removal

I am trying to install a PanaVise mounting bracket to the passenger side of my stereo. Center dash removal is necessary to access the bolts that secure the mount. It seems that there was a small center piece that popped out for the 2011s. However, for my 2012, it looks like I will have to remove everything from the passenger side of the stereo all the way over to the driver's door because there is no seam in the panel on the driver's side of the stereo.

Here's what I have done so far:

-Remove the plastic cover and one screw in the top center dash storage bin.
-Remove the entire recessed cover for the middle center storage bin.
-Remove two center vent covers by twisting about 1/8 turn then pulling.
-Pop up the dash from the passenger's side of the storage bin all the way to the driver's door (also see below) and continue around the bottom of center.

I have been unable to remove the dash cover in the area under all the gauges, above the steering column. It looks like there are two pop rivets there but the dash cover feels like it will break before the rivets do. One of the center "pop-in connecters" did break during the process. I don't think this would have been preventable.

Also, it seems the driver's side vent does not turn the come out. I ended up putting a small tear in the silver border of it while trying to do this. Later, it popped out with the rest of the dash without being turned. It seems the driver's side vent does not turn, but just come out with the rest of the dash.

Can anyone confirm the accuracy of this? Have anything to add? Any advice for me on how to get rest of it out?

It turns out there are two screws near the steering column that need to be removed. In order to access these, I think you will have to also remove the lower panel.

What are you going to mount with the Panavise?

A CB.. The Cobra 75wxsomethingsomething. I got it in without completely removing the dash. I just removed that side and pulled back enough to get it in.

Hopefully this will be useful for someone. I couldn't find any info. Maybe it will save someone tearing their interior a little like I did.

I googled PanaVise and found only portable vises not mounts for electronics. Can you post a link?

I'm working off my phone right now. The Amazon link is on my desktop. I think that's the one. It's not actually a radio mount. Look up that radio. There is a small behind-the-dash radio unit that connects to what is basically a microphone with controls. All you have visible is that microphone unit.

Attaching the CB mic mount to the PanaVise mount required drilling one hole but it works well. I really like the outcome.

Thanks for the link.

It looks just like a Bracketron mount I use for my cell phone. Looking for alternatives and had to ask.

It seems pretty solid. You may be able to get different 'holsters' that attach to the base.

I've had mine apart about twenty times and haven't broken anything yet.

Pull the top dash insert out of the tray and the screw under it.
Pull the lower dash cover off below the steering column. Remove the two screws there
Last, pull out the power windows panel out, disconnect the switch, remove the last screw under it.
Just pull hard on each corner and the entire panel comes off.

The problem I had was with the vent cover. All the others come out when removing the dash. This one doesn't seem to.
