2012 Eco mode?????

On my dash (same place that reads the odometer), if i keep clicking past trip a and trip b, i get to "ECO". I have the option of turning it on or off. Can someone explain what this means?

ECO will read "ON" when your driving in an economical way, conserving gas and increasing your MPG. If it does not read "ON" then you are not.

It's pretty much worthless. Your driving a refrigerator with wheels.

I've thought about turning mine off because it's almost always on. Maybe it's the 4.10 ratio.

There is no option to turn it on or off, just the option to display it or not display it. Strangely though they disabled it on later 2010 models but now it sounds like they have enabled it again.

Probably just monitors vacuum pressure. Accelerating Eco light goes off, holding steady or decelerating Eco light goes on. It was displayed on by default on my 2011. For me the option to turn it on or off is under the personal setting menu. Same place you can stop the horn from blowing when you lock the doors.

Auto... I can't recall the RPM, but I believe for the ECO to come up, there's a certain range... which is colored green in the panel

We're well out of the green range at 80 with the 4.10. I'm just under 3000 rpm at 80 with the 4.10 and Auto. But the ECO light is on. I got up to 90 yesterday because some guy was riding my tail and the ECO light was on.

Thumbs up

I'm likely the 'Old Fart' on this iste (just bought my 1st Wrangler @65 years young). Mine is an '11 and I use the 'eco' light to monitor my driving.

I'm not a MPG 'nutbar' and the price of fuel isn't all that bad....at least lower than it was, but I like getting 7 to 9 MPG MORE than I did with my Frontier Supercharged CC. THAT beast was a 93 octane fuel hog......now I'm averaging (all around) 21.4 mpg on 87 Shell. Cost per tankfull s down $10 to $12 Obamas!.

I kinda like this 'eco' thingy......we'll see come winter and hunting season when I take this ito the woods!!!

Just what I was going to say. I noticed it come on above 2500 RPMs outside the green. Sport S, manual, 3.73.
