2012 engine temp

Is it normal for 2012 JK temperature to go a bit past the middle? Is this a FAN related problem?

Perfectly normal, it even says so in your manual. My temp climbed on the trails in Utah and climbing over the rockies. 3/4 on the gauge is normal under certain conditions. Anything in the red is not normal. During normal driving, it should not go past the middle.

It was normal driving and at night, also noticed earlier today when I left the jeep while running some weird noise coming from the front. I opened the hood and tried to figure out the source.. Its something like a built moving but not moving right or like the fan is turning but something is wrong in there.. I think I should take it to the mountain and beat it to see if i got a problem with the temp or not

Compared to my other car (GTI) the penastar engine seems to make a lot of heat..

Can you describe the noise? Maybe post a vid?

If your noise is a squeal or chirping, it's the water pump. This is a known issue.

Get it fixed under warranty.

Many thanks, I hear the exact noise in the video posted in the link you sent, looks like i have a water pump issue.. Is it dangerous to have this until the next service or you guys think I should take it to the dealer ASAP and not drive hard?

I don't know the answer to that. I haven't heard of anyone whos water pump seized, but it's possible. FWIW my 2012's water pump has been chirping / squealing just a little, off and on, for about a month. It comes and goes. Most of the time it's quiet. I'm just hoping it will make the noise when I take it in for my next oil change. Otherwise I'm going to have to wait. If yours is chirping all the time, why wait?

Water pump bearings went bad like that on my previous 96 Cherokee Country, when I called the dealer got an appointment 48 hours later, so I used it for 2 days. When I got to the dealer, it seized right in front of the garage....
