2012 in Sahara tan

If the 2012 Wrangler is no longer made in Sahara Tan, why is it shown on the Jeep Wrangler 2012 factory site ?

Short run that ended in late July. They did the same thing last year with Detonator Yellow. I dunno why they still show discontinued colors...

As I bought my Sport "S" BECAUSE I could get it in Sahara Tan, (it was on the lot) I'm wondering why are they discontinuing this colour? Is it not popular? Frankly I don't see many, frankly have only seen one in my area and it was an Unlimited.

When I made the decision to finally buy my first jeep it was because of how great (IMHO) the Sahara Tan looked with the black trim. I am asked all the time about the Jeep and I must add frankly everyone remarks on how the colour is so sharp with the black trim.

So.....am I alone? Is this just not a popular colour? Anyone know the numbers for different colours? I'd be interested. In the end, I love my first jeep and I'm happy so I guess alls well!

I really don't know why they stopped the Sahara Tan. Without Mango Tango or Sahara Tan, I'm kinda "meh" about the rest. Curious to see Crush and Winter Chill in person.

They have it on the site so you can still search for it in dealers' inventories.

I can't wait til I get black rims to put on it. They really make it look so much better. Silver/chrome rims look horrible on it.

The color rarity is one of the big reasons we love our 2011 so much. We bought our all Sahara Tan Unlimited last November, and I've only seen two other tan Jeeps on the road since, both Sports, and we're in a town that gets over seven million tourist per year. The Sahara Tan color compliments the Dark Saddle leather, as well as helps to keep the interior much cooler. It also hides dirt and scratches extremely well.

Desert sand is not a 2011-12 JK color, it's just a mirage in a lazy dealers imagination. Our local salesman lost all credibility with us within the first minute by calling the JKU models....Sport, Sierra, and Rubicon. Evidently he used to work at the GMC dealership down the road.

My first order was Sahara Tan but it was built with the wrong axel ratio and they would not change it even in D status. It's still at the dealer lot waiting for a buyer. It's a Sahara two door, dual top, 3.23 axel, in Auburn Ca. I did drive it just for giggles and it was...giggles.

I've seen quite a few on here who have sprayed the factory rims with Rust-Oleum (or similar) spray-on bedliner. I think it looks really nice. From what I have read it holds up pretty well too.

I'm kind of debating whether or not to spray the leading edges of my rear fender flares with bed-liner. The new BFG A/T tires got them all chipped up already and the texture would match the Sahara's side steps too.

Isn't Sahara Tan the primary color of both the Mojave and Gecko editions?

Is that your jeep? If so can you hit me with some details (tires, lift, etc). I ask because I have the Mojave and want to keep the stock rims for a while and spend money on tires/lift initially. Really like how this jeep looks!

I was just casually looking at Jeeps until I saw the unlimited rubicon sahara tan with the brown leather interior pics at a local dealer. I loved the color and the look, I went down and bought it the next day. Nothing but compliments on the color ever since.

Can you get the Mineral Grey Wheels as a Dealer Option on a 2012 Sahara?

I know with the color you are limited to whats on the lot's now, but maybe I can work out a deal to get the wheels, if possible.

We took delivery of supposedly the only manual 2012 sahara tan unlimited in Canada. Don't know if it is the only sahara tan or the only manual sahara tan. We have the folks at Chrysler looking into this for us. best all around vehicle in the nicest color, convertible for the summer, tows our boats and camper and 4x4 for the winter. we should start a Sahara tan thread with pics.

When we went to the dealership to buy ours in August, they had 7 or 8 of them in the holding lot in different configs..
I was originally leaning towards the tan, but when we saw "her" sitting under that tree, we both kinda knew we were going Natural Green.

Still, I really admire 'em in this color. This and the various and sundry oranges.
Tan looks way classy and even has a retro feel to it when combined with the tan leather interior.
