2012 JK Problem with dealership and the gear ratio

I bought a new 2012 Sahara back at the end of December. For the past few weeks I've been doing some research on how i should go about lifting my jeep and i discovered i needed to find out what my gear ratios were to get the correct lift. so i call the dealership and give them my VIN number and they tell me i have a 3.21 gear ratio and like a 3.08 in the front or something close to that..... I thought the Sahara 4wd automatic was suppose to come stock with 3.73 gears? Maybe the dealership is trying to pull a fast one on me? what should i do? fight the dealership on this and make them compensate me for the false advertisement? i wanted to go to a 4" with 35 but now that doesnt seem like a good idea since my gears are so weak.

The 3.73's became an option for the 2012 model. They used to be standard on automatics.

Starting in 2012, non-Rubicon autos come stock with 3.21. The front and rear are the same. It's the axle that's different front to rear, not the gears.

4" of lift is too much for 35s.

Cancel your order and place a new one if you want 3.73s, or just regear aftermarket to 4.10s for your 35s (about $1200 to $2000). 4.10 would be better for 35s anyway.

Yeap, 3.21 is standard with auto or manual on all models except Rubicon.

Also, your front gears are the same as your rear. Think about it!

Why 4" with 35's?

A 2.5" lift will clear 35's and save you a lot of $$, and potential hassle.

If you go with a 3"+ lift you should seriously consider replacing your stock front driveshaft with a 1310 aftermarket ds made by Tom Woods, JE Reel or Coast.

First, you absolutely have the same gear ratio front and rear. Unless the factory REALLY messed up.

Second, you can go almost anywhere you want to go with a set of Rubi takeoffs without a lift.

He said that he bought it back in December. It's not the dealer's fault that you don't know what gear ratio you bought.

The window sticker states the axle gear ratio. Live and learn....

Yeah, they come with 3.21's unless optioned. Only way you can really have a complaint is if your sticker said it had 3.73's and it actually had 3.21's. And you definitely have a complaint if you have two different gears.
