Check out rubitrux. It is located in Boone, NC. They do great work. Also listed as High Country Auto. I believe another poster bought there JKU there. I plan on getting a 2012 JKU from them in May. They get Jeep a invoice and. An finance through Jeeps lowest rate. Also will be able to finance mods into the payment. Great service and products.
And while my KTM certainly would look cool in the back of a Crush one, the fact that the rear door doesn't lay flat (like a traditional p/u) makes it really, really unpractical.
I think the spare tire mounted on the back pretty much nixed any plans for the fold down tailgate....it would have cost even more to make a specific tailgate and engineer a spare tire alternative. It's a simply an exclusive showcase parts bin toy for those with excess cash - it is easy to nitpick rigs of this nature.....shoulda, coulda, woulda... there does appear to be some shortcomings but it's fun to discuss nonetheless! Jeep surely listens to such feedback which is part of the exercise. I would not mind having one if they could add it to the product line for a reasonable price. For the prices mentioned here I'd rather have a hemi or diesel conversion and have loads of leftover cash to buy my wife and kid some cool toys.
I saw one tonite at my local Jeep dealership. $30,250 was the MSRP.
Nope. Go take another look. That's the price on the original 4 door. Next to that sticker is another sticker that adds the conversion (~$10k) plus the lift, tires, wheels, and bumpers (because no dealer just does the conversion and nothing else).
These conversions--when you add in the other mods--add about $15k and up. I'm thinking whatever you looked at was probably in the mid to high-$40s.
