2012 jku antenna

Am looking for a black 15" to 24" antenna that screws into the existing factory mount. I have looked just about everywhere and have had no luck, with the exception of some antennas with universal adapters. The ones with adapters aren't what I am looking for.

Thumbs up

Same problem I had.....until the light went off. Krylon Spray Low Sheen Satin Black. Came out SWEET!!!

I know its not as short as we both wanted but the factory one looks 100000000% better sprayed satin black than the silly shinny one that came with my '11 Sport "S".

Three weeks and its holding up great and I fully expect it to last.....then again if it chips, a spray now and then is no big deal

Tom that looks to be the 14 inch. How is reception? Good as stock? I usually only listen to the sat so it is not really a big deal. Looks good though. I think beter then a rubber ducky type.

Yes, it's the 14". No issues with reception the few times I've listen to FM. It's a perfect fit with no adaptors.

Shorter is certainly a look. There is a small trade off in performance. You will not notice it on local stations. The way that FM works is that if you can hear it, it is high fidelity audio that is produced. When the signal becomes weak (as you get further from the transmitted signal) and the limiter circuit is no longer limiting, the signal will begin to fade in and out. This will happen closer in with a shorter antenna. The one that comes stock is relatively optimized for good reception at distance from the transmitted signal. That is the short of it!

For bugs, absolutely not. It does keep the front of the hood from getting shipped with stones however.

Just take your stock antenna - grind/cut it down to size. Spray paint as desired. Works good!! No adapters needed!!

X2. Mine came with mine, firestick, I want to go back to factory for the little I do listen to the radio. iPod is the way to go. IMO.

It also has kept my hood from popping up while driving on the highway! This happened to a friend of mine a couple days after they made fun of mine. Karma is a female dog!

I'm looking at some of the shorter antenna options out there and after all of it I'm considering simply shortening mine by a couple of inches and getting it powder coated.
I have a friend that might be able to get mine done on the cheap.

I like the look of many of them, but they seem crazy overpriced.
