I thought I'd share my before and after pics of my 2012 Stock JKU headlights and my Cibie H4 conversion. I don't believe anyone posted how the factory H13's compared side by side in the Headlight Shootout thread, and if they did, oh well, here are some more
Before doing this upgrade I was not totally unhappy with the factory Jeep headlights, but I did feel they could use an upgrade!
I looked through and read every post in the Headlight Shootout thread many times before making my decision to go with the Cibie lights. I chose them for the performance of a halogen bulb and the cost savings over some other choices.
I purchased the headlight housings, 2 sets of bulbs (spare set just in case they burn out quickly), and the harness do it yourself kit all from D.S. Lighting. I contacted Ray at RallyLights for a male H13 adapter so there was no splicing or cutting of any wires. The D.S. kit did not include the H13 adapter for some reason, but no big deal since I knew where to get one. Radio Shack supplied me with the 2 diodes and 2 capacitors I needed for the connections at the relays. The trigger wires were connected with 14ga wire and 12ga wires were used for grounds and to supply the relayed power the new lights. The wire was 12v wire purchased from AutoZone.
The Cibie light housings are stamped on the back "Made in France" and the Narva bulbs D.S. recommended and sent to me are labeled as a product of Germany, but the metal ring said "Made in Poland". When I was installing the Cibie housing into the Jeep's headlight opening, I noticed there were metal tabs on the Cibie's to align them perfectly into the Jeep housing. The factory Jeep metal headlight retaining ring fits around them perfectly also. I am VERY
impressed with the quality of the housings, the bulbs and the spring clip plugs sent to me by D.S.
I'm including pictures below of the factory bulbs and housings on the street and pictures of the Cibie's on the street for everyone to see the difference. The pictures were taken while the Jeep was stationary with a cell phone camera resting on the driver's mirror with the flash turned on
. I want to stress that the flash adds quite a bit of whiteness/lighting to the picture, but the non flash versions did not come out too great.
I'm extremely happy I did this upgrade. The light output is about as good as you can get with a halogen bulb. I will recommend this upgrade to any Jeeper.

Thanks for checking out this review and pics... and hopefully this helps someone make their decision about lighting.
