2012 JKU Popping out of 3rd gear

Hey guys! Taking it on Monday but thought I would also hit you guys up and see what you thought!

I have a 2012 JK that at around 19k miles started popping out of 3rd gear. Thought it was me since I rest my hand on it, even though I've had nothing but manual transmissions since I started driving.

Started driving without leaving my hand on there and it still popped out occasionally, now at 20k it's popping out all the time.

It is going in Monday but I thought I would get some advice.

Mine had a similar problem but was fourth gear and not 3rd. There's a service bulletin for the problem called a shift kit. They ordered it and put it in and no more issues yet..just did it Thursday. Good luck!

Thanks man, much appreciated! I read the TSP was only for 2nd 4th and 6th though. I hope it fixes it! I don't want to go without my jeep.

Well if anything, now that you know that, tellem it's happening in 4th, get the kit and see if it fixes, and if it doesn't, take it back and say "now it's happening in 3rd" haha

Update:

Dealership couldnt "duplicate the problem". So won't do anything. Showed them a video of it and everything. Have a 2nd video now. Only thing I can think of is to call corporate if the problem gets worse and they still won't do anything about it. What do you guys think?

Yea, I'd def call corporate, or go back in and raise a hell of a fit with the service manager! To me they don't have to replicate the problem if you have video proof, you're duplicating it for them! If its not right, then it needs fixed, plain and simple

Update: I spoke with Chrysler warranty customer service, told them I had 5 videos and that popping out of gear was a known issue for the jeep. He told me it wasn't a known issue, there was just a a TSB for it. I told him that's why there is a TSB and he's full of shit. He said to have everyone who has had their transmission pop out of gear call in that way Chrysler has a report of every one.

Next Update: Finally got the input to pop out of gear with a guy from the dealership in the car. He said it was weird because there was no grinding or anything. He replaced the boot per TSB and another part. 20 minutes after leaving the dealership it had popped out of gear twice. So I turned around and took it back. They are now tearing my transmission apart. I'll let you know how it goes.
