2012 Mod Compatability Thread - what works, what won't

So now that the 2012s have been released into the wild it's time to see what mods will work on the new model. Some have already preloaded their garages in anticipation of the new Wranglers...tell us what works and what won't. This will save us all time and money! Maybe even a vendor or two will verify that their products have been tested on the new model.

First one I've heard of is a problem with the Rugged Ridge XHD bumper. From another forum, I've heard: "ok, so my rugged ridge bumper won't fit the 2012 there is some type of canister and a bracket for it sitting inside the frame rail on the driver side. It's about flush with the top of the frame rail, and about 6 or so inches wide."

This could mean trouble for any recessed bumpers.

FWIW I heard from Chris at LoD and he says their front bumper will work on the 2012s. Here's hoping he's right, I'm about to order a stubby!

I got my Wranglerforum.com stickers last week, or the week before. Are they compatible with the 2012? Will the power of the Pentastar melt the sticker down the side of the hood?

I am hearing grumblings that being overly impatient is not compatible with waiting on your 2012.

I’ve heard that jeepers with pre-2012 wranglers are not compatible with the new wranglers... something about engine envy

KJ ,thanks for the congrats, your going to like this Jeep,("Jesus" engine or not).
I only put about 45 miles on it so far,so its a bit premature to review it.But Chrysler did a beautiful job with this vehicle.Assuming it is as reliable as my 08 was. Also ,no one is more critical of Chrysler than I am,but it appears they hit a home run with our Wranglers.(time will tell)

You and Jimbox(among others) are going to love your next Rubicons.

I don't know how to put an avatar under my screen name, if you must know!!!! LOL

Go to the WF help section. I just looked for a thread where somebody asked how to install a avatar. Posted a pic and politely asked a moderator. They will do it for you

If you can't find a good picture, you can always go the low road and literally have an Avatar avatar. Here is that other one.

Now- I should of said a "majority"

I did not have an avatar to begin with either

Back on topic. I'm heading to my dealer in the morning and they are going to see if my RR XHD bumpers can be installed. I'm guessing the rear bumper should be OK but the front frame with the 'pump' and connectors may be a big problem. Looks like the pump would be fine, but all the connections to/from it appear to be in the way. No one at the dealership knows anything about the '12s, so I don't expect the service guys to try real hard to get the front bumper transferred over for me from my traded '08. Will probably be looking at the plastic front bumper for a while.

I have a friend that has lots of 4x4 experience. He is telling me to replace the stock rocker panel sliders. If I get a 2012 2DR Rubi are there aftermarket rocker panel sliders that will fit a 2012? Was there a change to this part of the 2012 Jeep?

AEV told me the bumpers and lifts would work that there were no physical changes made to the 12's from the 11's except for some bolt on things
