2012 Price Paid Versus Invoice/MSRP??

Hi all, I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a 2012 Rubicon (Unlimited manual) and thought it might be helpful to gather people's pricing experiences. So, how about posting the price you paid (or the deal you reached) on your 2012? I write this after returning from Midway Jeep in San Diego and being told that they are attempting to get a $3000 markup on their 2012s!! So, any experiences shared on pricing (on 2012s only) will be extremely helpful. Thanks.

I ended up about 2% below invoice (right between the employee price and the friends and family price) on a loaded JKU-R

There are several affiliate programs for rebates and deals on 2012s. One of which is Tread Lightly is probably the most popular. You can also test your negotiating skills too but it's harder with the demand so high right now on them. Good luck.

Most 2012 buyers before you have used the Chrysler Affiliate Rewards program, through Tread Lightly membership to get guaranteed 1% below invoice + DOC fee ($55 in CA) &Tax Title License , no other BS allowed deals.

Your neighbor, sandbaja, got his at Powell Jeep in SD, I believe.

https://www.chrysleraffiliates.com/l...tPricingLayout

Tread Lightly - Home

Deal is not limited to just 1% below invoice, that's the maximum you will pay. If you have other incentives/discounts like military discount ($500) or dealer will discount further, all apply on top of the TL/AR price!

Edit: So, this forum just saved you $5-6,000 on your new Jeep. Maybe you will become a supporting member ($25), in thanks?

True, some are even getting up to 3% with the TL discount. It's definitely worth checking into. The more info you have the better deal your going to get.

I landed at 1% below invoice with my Costco membership, no questions asked (think it was just the FF price on the sheet). Probably could have gone a little lower with the Tread Lightly code, but I was happy enough that it wasn't worth the ~2 week wait to get their membership packet.

My sticker was $36,955 and I paid $33,700. '12 Rubi unlimited, auto, freedom, climate, tow, 4.10, remote start.

He would give me $3200 off sticker on a similar 6 speed. Find a truck, subtract about $3200 from sticker...

$3200 off seems like fair price considering they are trying to unload the 11's. Did not finance (if that matters).

So far I am at 2.75% below list. We do not have the same incentives north of the boarder that you folks seem to get. That said I'll keep working the dealership, maybe if I bring in my english bulldogs to the dealership I might be able to distract them long enough to get them to agree to another .5%...lol

Hey Bulldawgs,

So are they only knocking about 3% off a 33K truck = $1000 ?

If you want another couple thousand dropped off, My Dealer will probably do that for you. He found my truck in another state and got it for me.

I'm around 8% off sticker.

Contact me tomorrow and I'll pass you the details.

I think the Costco deal is different with every dealer or region. It's $200 over invoice at the dealer I bought from. But, it does give 15% off parts and service, at least at my dealer. (I used TL/AR)

So will you guys post numbers including sticker, and what you paid. (less the doc and title fee and state taxes if applicable)

There should be more spread on a loaded Rubucin verson an 6 speed, no option ragtop.

Sure. I went with the straight 1% off invoice + $75 AR fee on my 2012 Unlimited Rubi. More specs in signature line...

MSRP: 39,580
FWP (Invoice): 36,994
PP (TL/AR price): 36,742

Happy dealer, happy customer! Easiest vehicle deal I've ever made!

Thanks all for the great advice. Does anyone have experience comparing the American Express new car buying program with Costco's or Tread Lightly's? I have used AmEx's program before with good results.

Btw, I loved the 2012 Rubicon test-drive today. The motor was strong and I appreciated the updated interior (post 2010). I find myself very motivated to purchase a 2012! Thank you.

MSRP: $32,985.00
TL/PP: $31,296.00
Title/Trans: $53.50
Doc fee: $125.00

Total: $31,474.50

Everyone Happy, No negotiation required...
Took 2 hours including the test drive...

As far as the AMEX deal, which I had access to, I like Tread-Lightly better cause it makes everything easy...
Debated going the AMEX route but it was more phone calls and hassle...

.
I used the AMEX site today to price out a 2012 JKU Rubi, and the price they were committing to was about $1K above invoice, so until they throw some added incentives into the mix you would be better off with the TL program.

Another price saving option for USAA members is the AutoCircle buying program. Not sure how it compares to TL.

Depends on the area, we're getting $750 additional savings on a new Suburban, I think the TL deal might be better in the Dallas area on the JK's.

Participation in the program is at the dealer's discretion. They don't have to do it.

If you read the fine print it says to present your control number at "any participating dealer".
