Order submitted on July 8, 11.03AM
D Status on July 11, 10.24AM
D1 status on July, 13... notified at 7.24am

Ship date 8/9... Moving along just fine, I think. Anyone has any reason to doubt the ship date? I guess I could start working on the financing stuff now...

I haven't seen any pools or bets as to which members 2012 Wrangler will roll off the line first. Anyone want to venture a guess whose Wrangler will be the first off the line? LOL

Save them. Never burn your books and never throw away your tools! My machine shed keeps accumulating all sorts of vehicles, I always end up using both eventually

So to kill time, has anyone else noticed if the VIN they got start off as 1CXXXXXXXXXXXXX? The 2nd character is the manufacturer (Which in this case is Chrysler) My Grand Cherokee starts off with 1JXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I know everyone has probably not been sleeping well since my order has been stuck in D status (ok, that was probably just me) but now rest assured, this morning I have moved to D1! Sweet justice.

Like others have stated, it looks like there are only two dates now:

07/13/2011 06:33 AM CDT Scheduled for Build (D1) Toledo Supplier Park, OH
08/06/2011 10:00 AM CDT Shuttled to Facility VASC - Toledo Nitro Creek Yard, OH

Thanks to ndrugby for his app and superb customer service.

Who would be willing to pay a small web service fee to have an insider at the toledo plant to set up a web cam to view the actual build of the 2012 Jeeps.

They do it at corvette factory and ski/beach resorts.

At this point just get a 2012. Any money you'll save on a 2011 will come back to you in gas savings and resale.

I would. I suggested this prior somewhere. Webcam with online software to authenticate you. Would rule. It's not hard tech to build.

Oh, gawd.... that would be like watching paint dry. Is this one mine, is this one mine? Sorry, honey, I can't stop for dinner. Might miss my Jeep. Who cares if it's 1 am? Third shift isn't over for another 3 hours!

Yea but at least we could see if the workers are drinking on the job while they are building our Jeeps.

No no. You'd have a webcam that went everywhere with your build. You'd get an email saying you'll be starting between x and y time. Here's your password. Then you go online enter vin and password. And boom their camera is streaming your Jeep as it gets built!

Would you really want to know that? It would send me into a tizzy that no amount of blood pressure medication could solve and there wouldn't be anything I could do about it. I can imagine the call: "Hello, Toledo supplier part security, can I help you? Yeah I was just on the Internet watching some guy on the line belting down half a fifth of Jack Daniels while he was installing the engine into my Jeep! (pause)... uh, sir, have you been drinking? NO! I'm calling to report the guy I saw on the factory floor drinking while he was building my Jeep! Sir, it's ummm, 3:30 in the morning and we have shift change coming up. Why don't you go home and try to get a little sleep before work in the morning (click).

Are you saying you'd rather watch young ladies wash your Jeep than watch a bunch of overweight middle aged men build your Jeep? I'm shocked, I tell you, shocked...

This thread is so huge and I always find a good laugh no matter where you pick up and read in this thread.
I have a corvette and yea I was at the corvette museum and watched my vette roll off the line.
The 2012 Jeep is just as cool to be able to be there just like the vette.

Trying not to pay attention too much, but...D1

My Jeep order is now D1 - I told myself after the order that I would not pay much attention to the build process, but I can't help it! Ordered on Friday, got D on Monday, got D1 on Wednesday. The delivery ETA is 8/11/11. Tops off!

I know Toledo's in the northwestern part of the state. I pass it on my way from NJ to South Bend

Anyone know if that plant you can see off 80 near Toledo is where they build the Jeeps.
