Let's see 10 weeks would be the week of August 23rd or so. That sounds about right. I was quoted end of August/start of September. Production doesn't even start until July 25th.

Pat - someone on another forum is claiming that their dealer got paint samples including some of the new colors. Any truth to the fact that dealers are starting to receive the new paint colors?

Thanks

I think 6 weeks from July 25th seems the most reasonable.(maybe just 4,that's a big maybe)

6 weeks from July 25th until we see the new colors, Yikes.

I'm setting my expectations at the week of Labor Day (9/4). If it's before, it's a bonus. That's about 6 weeks.

Can you coax them into snapping some pics of the samples?

Thanks much. I'm still happy with my Cosmos. Although Deep Molten looks intriguing. I keep thinking that Gecko will be similar to the Geico lizard, a non metallic not quite Rescue Green. Somewhere between hunter green and Rescue green.

Awesome! Thanks for the color chips. Interesting how close Header Orange, Crush and Dozer are. On second look, it appears that Header Orange and Crush have the same paint code, just offered for different models. Notice that Winter Chill Pearl is also blank.

Just so you young guns know this old geezer was serious: Today I celebrated Flag Day with my own order: 2012 Wrangler/Sahara, 2-door, auto, Sahara Tan, black Freedom top, and a bunch of other opticals with lots of numbers...all at 1% below invoice. Yeeee Haaa!

I just wanted to thank everyone on here and I just ordered my Rubicon Unlimited. Decided to go white with matching fenders... Hopefully not a mistake I live on a dirt road but it is hot down here.. I wanted to wait for the forest green but I am sick of waiting around. I called my local Jeep dealer and they told me to shove it. They wanted full sticker to order the 2012 even with TL because it was a Rubicon. I called a smaller dealer 20 minutes away, and ordered it 1% below invoice. Really hacks you off when they want people to buy locally. I will finalize the order in the morning with him. Decided to not get the pricey radio and hardtop. Anything else I should make sure to get.

Options
Leather
remote start
uconnect
tow package
tinted windows
matching fenders

Congrats. There is no better way to celebrate Flag Day / The Army's birthday than to buy a Jeep! It's nice to know I'm not the only one who ordered a 2 door with auto.

I had the same experience. Some dealers have the "I'm the only dealer in town mentality" when it comes to haggling. The 4th dealer I visited accepted my offer and didn't even try to haggle with me. I tried to walk in there with a look about me that says "I'm ready to buy, but I will also walk out of here at the drop of a hat."

After walking out on the second dealer, I decided to simplify the process. I got tired of all the repetitive questions that sales staff would ask me. I printed up a document, with all my contact info, described the 2012 Jeep that I wanted including every option, and the terms that I was looking for (Copied directly from my document):
I know that MSRP for 2012 is not out.
Sale price of 2% Below dealer invoice – in writing
Chrysler Affiliate Rewards control number: XXXXXXXXXXXX
What is your “Doc fee?”
Any other fees? Prep fee?
I will put $500 down.

I think this made me appear to them as an informed serious buyer.

I have a question. Would the 1% - 2% below dealer invoice be cheaper than the $40,800 I'm being told to pay? I want to know if I can go even lower. I know we don't know the price of the 2012's as yet but just curious.

I would suspect you are paying MSRP at that price. If you didn't use tread lightly or similar you are paying MSRP.

When I had my baja bug painted in Mexico the guy doing it asked if I wanted it school bus yellow or Canary yellow. Since then I have looked at yellows as shades of those two colors. Crush looks like school bus yellow (but better) and Dozer is a blend between the two.

I saw you posted earlier saying you got just about every option. I didnt do the math or anything but I would think it would be impossible to have a Jeep Wrangler have a dealer invoice of $40,800, so im going to say yes you are paying too much.

Quick way to find a roundabout price of what invoice would be as far as the 2011's go would be to go on edmunds.com. Just figure a couple hundred more for the 2012.

Thanks to all the Members for their contributions regarding the 2012 order dates, options and most of all, the Tread Lightly discount!

I placed my order today (first Jeep for me) a 2012 Sahara 2-door:

Pentastar 3.6L w/5-speed Auto
Deep Cherry Red
Black Cloth Heated Seats
Auto Temp A/C
3:73 LSD
Trailer Tow Pkg.
Conn. Pkg.
Remote Start
Black Freedom Top

Ordered it from a Dealer (Bald Hill Dodge) that I previously worked at some time ago. So easy to deal with a Salesman when you know them!

The wait is going to kill me!

Congratulations to all that have purchased and thanks to the community for helping us being fiscally responsible.

For those old timers on this forum is this normal every year or has the new engine sparked higher than usual response?

It's normal other than all the hoopla over the first order date. Most wanted to wait and see what the new 2011 interior looked like before ordering.

It will be fun to see which of you takes delivery first and posts the first picture. I would have put money on snowbucks or wrangler2012, but they both appear to be ATANA.

Yeah, there was definitely anticipation and excitement during the 2010 to 2011 switch, but there weren't dedicated let's-all-order-before-we-drive type threads. This has been pretty impressive. I'm really looking forward to pics, reports of driving, etc.

I do think you all really did yourselves a service by stopping in here early with questions about limited slips, tow packages, 4 door vs 2 door, Rubicon vs Sahara, lockers, and so on. Most folks (myself included) didn't do that, and I think it has maximized your chances to really get exactly what you want.

I hope you all hang around after delivery and become dedicated Jeepers.

. . . "ATANA"? . . .

Ahh yes, a perfect fit then.

These folks, by contrast, are of the "we don't even need to see it first" group. Pure action. That's how I bought mine, so dammit, they get another thumbs up from me.

I just cant get excited about speculation. Sorry.

From what I have read about the cost going up, I dont think I could have found the dough. I am glad I already bought mine and I get to drive it every day. The engine runs great.
Golly, I just couldnt take the anxiety of spending a lot of time in this forum with no Jeep to drive.
