Green Pearl paint or just a "base" green color???? As all are aware the Natural Green Pearl is a discontinued color, IE you can no longer order this color.
It is my understanding they have to maintain this color for repair work (and touch ups!) for ten years after production. So maybe not an entire Jeep from the factory, but the body shops have to be able to repair crunched Jeeps!

I love the factory leather, very comfortable and sporty. Not like deep sinking Cadillac leather. I have leather in my Tahoe that is nice too, but it is softer than the Jeep. I prefer the Jeep seats. Now if I took a ten hour drive, I might take the softer, but for how and where I drive the Jeep, I like not sinking in! I had a friend show me their Kat. leather seats and I thought they were too soft. Maybe that is just the type they picked?

How do you know what dealers can order/install katzkin?

So until Pat advised we could order black leather I was all set to go with Katzkins from Shopsar.com and install them myself. Now im not sure, I could probably save about $500 by going with the factory leather but I have seen a couple posts saying that Katzkins are softer/better. My question is if your using the same seat and the same padding what's the difference? Is there added padding in the Katzkin covers themselves? Is the leather softer to the touch what is it? Thanks for the insight

You can send them an email but I think most Jeep dealers have installers they use.

I'd like to take this opportunity to "one-up" everyone's 2012 JK sob-story... I just got an email from my ordering resouces telling me that Chrysler isn't going to even start building my Jeep until the 3rd week in September... meaning I won't see it until the 3rd week of October... and not to belabor the point, but I put in this order in freaking March!! I see 2012 JK's popping up everywhere, and I can't help but ask myself, "what the hell did I do wrong?!?"

You ordered in March BEFORE ordering begn on June 6th. Your order was never placed is my guess. Why not buy off a lot now?

I don't want to change the firmness of the seat, the firmness is good. I don't like the texture of the factory "leather" itself. I don't know how to explain without causing more boyish comments

Seemed to me like the leather itself was softer

Yes it was very fast. Yesterday was 2 weeks from the time I ordered. Now for the final leg of my trip. Up the NJ Turnpike, over the George Washington bridge and the I-95 north. That isn't me on that forum. I got this name from the TV series called Spartacus. Great show.

hi!

i'm about to contact the dealer i have a order placed at about making a change to my order (adding the black leather option)

i am not sure of my order status as i have not requested the VIN yet (or even know if it has been generated) order was placed august 22nd

from what i understand changes can be made until d1? what are the chances you think of it not being at d1 with the order being placed on the 22nd of august?

and so i can get things moving the fastest if it has not yet hit this status what does the dealer need to do to be able to make this change? (they had told me changes could not be made after it was ordered but this forum taught me changes could happen to d1 maybe they just do not know how or is it simple?)

thanks all!

If I didn't think it was all in good fun, it would be different but since you all have been so helpful and made me feel welcome in the Jeep world it's all good.

I ordered from the Military Overseas Car Sales in March... my order got placed, I just don't know when.... I'd LOVE to buy off the lot, but there aren't very many 2012's here in WA.... and even NONE that have half-doors... I'm stuck waiting... ERR!

I ordered on 8/24 and went D1 on 8/31. Not that that means you are or aren't.
