Actually more of a tightening in the chest. The paperwork is not final yet, since I'm in a different state than the bank, and have to overnight things back and forth. I'm so scared she'll be there this weekend and all I'll be able to do is visit her!!!

When we bought my wife's Camaro we had similar issues. The payment actually went OK because the credit union had a branch across the street from the dealership. The problem we had was that we bought it in Texas, which is a title holding state, and we live in Oklahoma which is not a title holding state. The dealer never mailed us the title, so we couldn't get the tag or pay the tax. By the time they sent it we owed penalties and interest to the state (about $100, not bad) and our paper tag was expired. The dealership was nice enough to mail us a second paper tag to get us by and a check for the penalties, but it was still a pain.

Our Wrangler hit the deck at my dealer today! We were going to pick her up tonight, then we got the dreaded phone call.."there's a small spot above the windshield, a scrape and sort of a dent". Heard this one before, haven't we? Well, after hearing that it might take a week to see what Jeep would do to fix it, we came to an agreement that they would swap windshield frames with another Wrangler on the lot, and let Jeep worry about that one. Should be ready tomorrow night!

Oh that's way more complicated! Nice of them to help you out though! My deal is I'm a procrastinator (really bad) and I dragged my feet getting the Tread Lightly membership, and didn't have the paper until just 5 minutes ago, so they couldn't work up the final bill. Add to that the fact that my old credit union (who I went with to get the best possible interest rate) is a single-branch outfit in Upstate NY, the Jeep is headed to the dealer in WV, and I work up in PA during the week, and I am just having multiple mini-panic attacks. But, if I had been intelligent and not said "oh, I'll do it tomorrow" about almost everything, I wouldn't need a chill pill right now. Lesson learned!! I hope.

I would refuse delivery and order another one. What else is going to get scratched while they are swapping windshield frames? The paint will be chipped on the fasteners and around them. Great place for rust to start. Just my $.02.

No Jeep. Been getting the run around. The sales manager isn't answering my calls. I literally called 7 times today and asked to speak to him to no avail. This morning I was told that they are working on the Jeep. This evening I was told that the Jeep hasn't been touched. Friday I was told it would be ready today because all parts for the package I took are in except the hood lock and gas cap lock. So after I've been jerked around today I just called the receptionist to tell the sales manager that I'm coming for my Jeep tomorrow regardless of what was done to it. Even if it is in limp mode, I'm going there and coming home with my Jeep. I've had enough of the bullshit. It's been 3 weeks and you mean to tell me that the gas cap and hood lock aren't in? And they told me Monday pickup and I'm still driving a Town and Country and no one is taking my calls? Screw that. I'm going for my Jeep tomorrow come hell or high water.

Good for you.

I can't believe the dealer is screwing around with you after all the crap you have already suffered through.

I have no idea why they can't get the stuff finished. When I was there on Friday, they didn't even know the Jeep was in. I called and they said it wasn't in. I drove by and saw it out front. I was ready to call out of work on Friday if they would have it ready but they said and I saw it was swamped in the service department. So reluctantly I agreed to wait until Monday. Monday is here and still no Jeep. I really don't want to take it and then have to bring it back to get more work done but they have until late tomorrow to get it done. When I get there I'm signing papers and I'm out.

Dominus, I feel your pain. Same thing happened to us where it our Sahara came in late Wed. and by next Monday they still were not done with the tires and gas cap. They forgot about it over the weekend even though we had agreed on the Wed. it came in that I would be in on Monday afternoon. Luckily I had a bad feeling and called Monday morning to see if things were a go. They gave my husband the run around all day saying they had a new computer system and it did not get into their system. I'm like come on, this is the first 2012 they had ordered and the only Wrangler sitting on the lot. I took time off from work and had daycare all set up. The last straw was the dealer called back and said he could not do anything and they would need another week. My husband said we will be there at 5 to pick it up or we will pick up our deposit. My husband and I still did not know if it would be ready until we walked into the dealership. We decided on the way up, 45 minute drive, that we were willing to walk if they gave us any BS. I was ready to walk if they looked at us wrong. We never yelled or ranted but they knew we were not happy. We were able to get our point across without turning it ugly. I feel the more understanding you are the more they are willing to work with you. It was the most unpleasant car buying experience ever. In the end it's water under the bridge and we forgot about it once we laid eyes on our baby. Hope things go well for you tomorrow.

I am livid but yelling and screaming only makes enemies. I will let them know I'm not happy. If they can absolutely guarantee that everything can be installed for Wednesday pick up I'll leave it. I want to see that everything is there personally. If not I'm taking it home.

Yeah, I would say you have had worse problems than us. I know you have been VERY patient and I was impressed on how fast your Jeep was built and shipped. I would think with all that happened they would make sure it was done. They do know when these vehicles will arrive so it shouldn't be a huge surprise or problem to get them ready. I was wondering myself that something was wrong with ours when they told my husband they would need another week to get it done.

It just May go smoothly for you like it did for many others. Chrysler did their part in getting it built and shipped with a hurricane and earthquake to deal with. Now we are down to the final leg and they want to play games.

This morning I drove by and saw it in the same sport it was in on Friday. I just drove by and its gone. That's a good sign I guess. Or maybe they just moved it inside but still didn't touch it. I don't know......

Dominus - long time no see. I'm sorry to hear they are screwing up a negative turned positive, now turned negative again! Oh well, soon you will be cruising in your vehicle and this will be behind you!

My jeep has been great and no complaints. I mentioned a while back that my hard top leaked a bit during hurricane Irene. I never really had the chance to replicate it, and now have the soft top on. There was more rain after the hurricane, but no leaks so I hope that was a one-time event (until the net hurricane!). Hard top will go back on in November or so. Anyway, I hope it goes smoothly for you this week....

Hey Ryan. Glad to hear all is well with your Jeep. They are really making it into a bad car buying experience.

This ordering experience has been nothing but long waiting filled with B/S from the dealership. I ordered on July 19; KZ on August 17; No Wrangler yet! Insight shows my Rubi on Rail car at distribution Center (It has not been unloaded for two full days - that is ridiculous, I told dealer I would not mind helping the lazy AS unload the Rubi). I'm still waiting for a miracle.

The Mopar hood lock, 2007-2012) will not work on the 2012 Wrangler with auto transmission. Ask me how I know. The transmission cooler is in the way. If you have a 6 speed stick, it will still work on the 2012.

If they get hood lock to work with the auto transmission, let me know how, as I have a Mopar hood lock that I cant put on my 2012 Rubicon with 5 speed auto.

Have you gotten a "Placed At Industry" status update yet?

With most, I think that is the status just before unloading.
