The little LED flashlight is perfect and stupid bright so instead of trying to find a better looking light I think i will just paint the blue, black.

Picked up my JKU Rubicon last night. It's freakin awesome and I'm enjoying every minute. Couldn't sleep last night, all I wanted to do is drive and find the trails.

At what stage can you view the window sticker? I still can't at this point. I am dying to verify that they got all the options right

Shore, you can email Jeep Customer Support to get a build sheet (via email) to verify also. I emailed them and got the build sheet in 24 hrs.

The window sticker seems to work the calendar day after you go to KZ status.

+1

I love my 430N. Having the built in hard drive is the best. I transfered my entire MP3 library onto it. It took an hour to upload. The NAV works well. You can't type letters while driving but you can use any icons like "go home" or go to a stored/previous address or to nearby gas station.

I didn't think paying almost x2 for the 730N seemed worth it for just a few more features especially since the voice input has been reported to be sketchy at times.

And I didn't want to go to the trouble of finding a suitable aftermarket unit that would work with the steering wheel controls, and NAV on the dash tach/spreedo gauge, and the existing microphone, and have the install look "factory".

Well I put in the Coastal Lockpick Chry550 yesterday with a rear camera. Works well and was user friendly. The license plate bar cam did't fit right with the plate light. I ended up using the standard cam. I mounted it about five inches right of the trailer hitch on the bottom side of the bumper. I used a metal bracket attached to the frame for a solid mount. It provides a generous view and serves the purpose of showing me hidden hazards in reverse. Sine it also works in other gears, I can switch on at stoplights to make sure no Taliban are sneaking up on me! I ran the wires behind the glovebox (as previously recommended on here) and continued them back along the passenger side molding under the carpet. I then dropped the wires down through a slit I made in the back seat drain plugs and then back to the camera. I was going to put it right in the center of the bumper, but the trailer hitch assembly blocks access to that area and I am no sure there I enough space there anyway.

A great write up that will be forever lost because it is in this thread.

I agree. There have been several write-ups about camera installations and other things associated with a 2012 that have been put in this thread that will probably be forever lost. I'm guilty of doing it as well. To bad the original reason for this thread was for tracking 2012 Jeep orders, but it has now become anything related to a 2012.

Agree. I've taken a few things I've posted in here and cross posted them elsewhere for that reason.

I've said it over and over. You 2012's have got to get out of this thread and experience all this forum has to offer. Several of you have made the jump and become very important members. Others choose to only post here. That's a shame because others can learn from your experiences. Hooking up a backup camera would be the same for all JK's not just 2012's. This thread has served it's purpose and it's time to let it go.

Agreed X 3. After my 2012 Rubi was delivered, I don't really want to come back here and dig through all the posts on to be delivered Jeeps and packages. Mods, write ups etc, should be in separate threads.

No doubt! The only thing I dislike is that the navigation doesn't allow you to make changes "while the vehicle is in motion". It lets you go through your music and rename or delete files while doing 70 down the freeway, but changing your desination seems to be "hazardous". I think they could've allowed it.... other than that....yeah, it's awesome!

Has anyone heard any updates on what's going on with current production? Ya know, things like delays, colors getting pushed back, etc? I know most people in this thread have their '12s, but I know you all want to help us who are still playing the waiting game...right?

Oh and pics will def be posted when my Rubi comes in..if this thread is still open that long

It is amazing....
It is October 7th, and no one has actually SEEN Crush...or Black Forest Green. And the only pics we have of Winter Chill are from a German auto show.

Well BFG isn't supposed to start production til the 17th, but the delay on crush has gotten a bit ridiculous.

Have you decided on what you are going with?

Not 100%...I still want to see Winter Chill and BFG in person.....or at least a good picture in a brochure (not photo-shopped).

Outside of that...I'm basically:
90% Sahara Unlimited
9% Sport S Unlimited
1% Rubi Unlimited

60/40 on the 3.21's vs the 3.73's
50/50 on the side air bags
50/50 on a painted top (depends on the color).

Will get the saddle interior with leather, remote start, connectivity, trailer tow, engine heater and LSD. (It is the saddle color, leather, and remote start that has me getting the Sahara over the Sport S).

95% sure I won't get any type of Nav and 90% sure I won't get climate control.
But the big issue is still the color.... I "kinda" know in my head what BFG should look like because of an old bicycle I used to have...but I don't know if it will really look like that bike (which was a really cool color).

I posted something better in the Crush waiting room. But here's header orange on the Challengers. It's the same paint code as "Crush". So this is what Crush on the Wrangler will look like.

I've recently ordered my 2012 Sahara Unlimited (Actually on 10/5/2011) and I have just been looking through the different JK forums and came across this one.

I haven't read everything in this post...so I might have missed it...but there is a way to track your Ordered Jeep. You will need your VIN...as the VON does not work. https://www.jeep.com/vots/

Also, any Jeep, Dodge, etc. dealership can print you off a build sheet of your vehicle. Before I purchased my 2006 TJ back in April, I called my Dodge dealer parts guy, gave him the VIN of the Jeep I was looking to purchase and he emailed it to me within the hour.

Hope some of this info helps...

Now...I'm just waiting on my VON to turn into a VIN so I can track it!!!
