Should I get some locktite to reapply or the factory stuff would be ok?

I didn't, but it's not a bad idea. Many have. So far no rattling or issues for me.

Would a Dremel work to grind the washers down? I have a Dremel and that thing does almost everything. Or should I get something a little more specialized? How about just buying new washers lol?

......depends on how much time you have..........bench grinder, belt/disc sander or cut off wheel in vise seems to be best. I would like to know why they don't make the mounting boxes a scoshche bigger so you can just drop the bolts right in but there must be a good reason.

What about just taking the washers to a body shop or a fabricator? I have no use for a grinder and don't want to buy one just for that. I figure I give the guy $10-$20 and call it a day.

Wow, this is the thread that got it started for me and my 2012 JKU-R back in June.... and it's back I guess we will be posting out "THANKSGIVING" thanks for our 2012 this time around.
I give thanks to the Jeep Gods for the production of our 2012's with the new 3.6L V6 Pentastar engine equipped with the 5 speed auto transmission, and 4.10 gears that has brought us many smiles.

One thing I can say, It was a long summer waiting for my Jeep Wrangler... but I could not be any happier.......
Thank You God....

Several people have mentioned that the systems are often behind. Some people have even said that the system stated that their Jeep was "ready to ship" when they already picked it up from the dealer. I don't really understand how they think this provides value to the customer when it isn't right. Plus, it's obvious they have the correct information, so why not provide it through the public facing system??

Agree. This was for those that ordered on June 2, 2011.

I love this forum but I have never seen one that goes off topic like it does.

Only bad because it totally screws the search function.

Good luck to all you "Fall/Winter" 2012 Wrangler delivery dates guys and gals.!!!

For us that live in US areas that get snow; we will be able to see how our 2102's handle the snow and ice pretty soon!!!!!! Maybe we need to start a new Forum title "2012 - Snow and Ice" or maybe there is one already????? Pearl Green/ Manual/2012 Rubicon -- from Kansas!!!!

Agreed. Im living in Canada and snow is something I know. If ever you decide to start a winter thread, it'd be cool to address local law enforcement related to tires restrictions. I mean, here in Quebec, law states that mud and snow tires are ok for now, but as of 2015, you'll be force to put real winter tires on with the pictograph printed on it, you know, the mountain and snow icon?

Oh yeah, and for ordering a new '12 wrangler, Im for sure gonna wait after next winter... for several reasons: new colors, skipping one snow and salt season, taking advantage of discounts and rebates, taking advantage of gained experience of Jeep staff

my 2 cents

I'm in Ontario and yes, they are doing the same thing here. However the simple solution is to run Goodyear Duratrac's as they are winter rated and have the pictograph on it

And because of this new law, you still have to buy those, which you didnt before

That was my point. But hey, at least on road safety is gonna get better I guess...

Do all W5A580's have the same ratios or is it possible the Wrangler will have different ratios?

I'd like some more info on this. I've got 321s and would like to see what the gear would calculate to with the 5 speed auto.

Here's a good resource to compare drive train gearing:

Gear Ratio Calculator

You can play with different tires, axles, transfer cases and trannys.....

The NAG-1 in the tranny drop-down list is the same as the W5A580

Me too! I'm doing everything I can to get that gas mileage to drop. My tactics seem to be working.

I am extremely happy with mine (gas and all). I just crossed the 5000 mile mark and going strong. Now I look at roads in a new way, "can I climb over that?" This is money well spent.
